Well I really cant say if the trade and release was worth it but here are the season stats thru 12 games....

Terrell Owen
Rec: 43
Yards: 690
Avg: 16
TD: 3

Roy Williams
Rec: 32
YArds: 504
Avg: 15.8
TD: 6

I still would rather have the current locker room as opposed to the T.O. locker room. So if the trade off is 11 catches and 186 yards while adding 3 more TDs that T.O. then I say thumbs up to releasing him. But RW stats still dont add up to the ransom we paid to get him and then keep him!

Advantage Roy!

Def. worth noting that Roy missed a game.

3 more TDs are worth more than the extra yards or catches. If all things were equal of course, which they are not. :D

yeah those things are nice and all but dont ya miss the leadership, team work, accountability, selflessness, sideline enthusiasm, and coach support that T.O. brings to the table?

Of course Roy hasn't had Fitzpatrick and Edwards trying to get him the ball either.

Im so over TO. I enjoyed him while he was here but its to the point I could care less what he is doing in way up there.

You and me both. Its Miles Austin's show now.

Until he starts crying about his QB, then I'm off his bandwagon too. :D

Honestly, neither of these players are worth a damn. At least TO didn't cost us premium draft picks and did produce. Every time I think JJ can't do the stupid again, he proves me very, very wrong.

Ain't it funny how Jerry gets ripped to shreds for the whole Roy Williams dealio, but gets exactly zero credit for Miles Austin developing into a stud?

If you flipped Roy's and Miles' numbers... so Roy's stats were Miles' and Miles' were Roy's... would we be ripping Jerry for our undrafted 4th year WR putting up paltry numbers? Of course not.

And remember, it was Jerry all offseason hyping up Austin's potential and claiming that played a huge role in letting T.O. go. No matter who convinced him of what, it was Jerry's move to make and he pulled the trigger on the decision.

Meh, who would want to hear about the GM aspect? You have the feel good "zero-to-hero" story at hand, who cares if some old guys ego is stroked for doing a whole lot of nothing.

GMs acquire talent, coaches develop talent. I'm not sure many GMs receive praise for player development but I do know that a lot of GMs or teams get hammered for making a crappy trade.

As far as the OP goes, combined Roy and TO have a little more yardage than Moss and just as many TDs. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Will say this though. Roy has looked MUCH better in recent weeks. Aside from what was the most awkward attempt on a ball I've seen in a while, hes been playing well as of late.

Not that I am calling anybody out, but there were a ton of guys on this board that were very pro-Roy and loved the trade at the time.

How strange it is that in hindsight, it was Jerry just getting raped again in a trade.

I thought it was a good trade. I thought he would come in and produce. I think I remember not liking the price too much but thought it would work out in the end.

Now, I hate the price. More optimistic about it than I was a couple weeks ago but he needs to keep the production rolling.
