Roy Williams

I am stoked that Roy is playing at a high level this season. This is the guy I thought we were getting back when the trade was made. If this three game sample is truely what he is bringing this year, then we have a disturbingly good receiving core.

While the biggest play was obviously the long TD, the catch he made today that impresses me most somehow is the slant for 12 because IMO it really showed off the differences in his game more than anything else.

He got out of his stance, turned around, and hauled in a pass across the middle with 3 defenders right next to him and still managed to carry it another 5 yards or so in about 3 seconds of play.

Roy is definitely looking much quicker out there all around and that is a great thing to see out of the guy. Hes someone who I've been wanting to succeed so it's nice to see him performing.

He's been pretty good all year outside of the stripped fumble last week.

He gets a lot of man coverage and he isn't so bad that he can't beat man coverage.

Also Martellus is quietly having a good year.

:hammer:

I've been bagging on both Martellus and Roy but they've stepped up this year. I really hope their stellar play continues.

I like Roy, I really do. I'm cheering for him and actually want him to be a big factor this year.

But 1 good game means nothing. Honestly =p. 1 game does not equate to "see, told you he was good".

I was heavy on board with bringing him to Dallas and its been very frustrating.

Last night was great. I felt like I was making the catches, thats how happy I was for him.

BUT it was against the Texans defense and one player did fall down so I need to see him do things more consistently.

True but then RW has been making the catches this season when they have gone to him. This game he got more chances at the ball and made the plays. Hopefully this will give the team more confidence in looking to RW. Normally that is how it works the more plays you make the more often they look for you.

Yes, I hope this was his springboard into Cowboys "contribution", "dominance" - pick a word, any word.

I think, maybe he had a few obstacles when he got here. It was always something.

Year 1 - the TO thing
Year 2 - he gets crushed in Denver, seemed like he was ready to break out before then
Year 3 - hopefully this is the year.

I feel once he gets going, he will feel like he truly belongs and truly feels he is earning his stripes, er.... star and then there is no stopping him.

He didn't fall down on the second one, Roy knocked him the **** out of his way.

I think better coaching has something to do with it as well as a sense of urgency on RW part. I think RW came to Dallas feeling he was a prime time player and I think as he struggled he looked more and more to Ray Sherman. I think the work Ray did with RW this season is a big reason for RW looking sharper than he has before.

Roy was putting on a clinic for the Texan's DBs yesterday. He was getting off the line consistently, not allowing the DB to jam him and disrupt the route. I don't remember any drops either. Hats off to RW11 for a fantastic game!

Its been more than one good game. He's had a good year. If you cant tell the difference between the three games this SEASON (and training camp/preseason) from the last two, somethings wrong.

His route running has improved vastly, and he's making every tough catch there is.

agreed
i havent been a big fan of his so far but he is changing my mind this season.
the more effective weapons we have the better

Yea, but the move Roy made caused him to fall.
