If they do surgery it's a full rebuild regardless of full or partial. Was Gallups a full tear or a partial tear though

It’s beyond that, though. It’s a question of settling for good enough or making an active effort to improving the team. Steele is good, but his ceiling isn’t that of a first round pick… and he’s coming off major injury
we IMHO need a LG first and foremost.,., ball and wally could be the next Steele but many or al are hurt we need a bridge, not a high OT pick from where im sitting. If they allow Conner to walk which i think they hsiouklsd a big physcal run blockign dynamo is needed at LG..Steele ios ouir RT of the future and tyler LT so OT is needed why? we have some options but whose ready and when? What do you mean, "to avoid forcing a pick for OT"? That should be a top priority.
Like gallup?? i wouldn't count on it.but sooner than later says less capital should be used at Tackles. wally was hurt as well, is he ready game 1 , if so and 77 isnt an option i let the young kid have shot. Steele surprised us with his development, so can wally. he flashed??Steele will be ready week 1
Drafting an OT early would mean Tyler to LG once Steele returns.I'm always BPA within reason, but to all of those saying draft an OT early: If we have a 25 year old Steele and a 21 year old Tyler Smith penciled in as our starting OTs, why would we force OT early? You don't draft a swing tackle in the first round. Also, I haven't read that Steele 100% absolutely won't be ready for the start of the year. I think if we cut Tyron we will bring in a veteran ST or perhaps they feel Peters can play more snaps if he is on a team in the Summer and stays in shape. I'm all for drafting an OT if it falls that way but alluding to it being a priority in early rounds is off base IMO. That being said, if you are like me and feel Tyler can be an option going forward at both LG and LT and aren't in the "he must be the LT and nothing else" group, then drafting OT early would make more sense. But not if Tyler is set in stone at LT.
Still was not playing well in the playoffs which was over a year since injury. He started playing about 7 months after his surgery
I think he's just saying that if a team is forced into a particular position it sometimes has to stretch on a player to draft that position rather than being able to take a better player at another positionWhat do you mean, "to avoid forcing a pick for OT"? That should be a top priority.
Why would spending a premium pick on OT be a priority when you have Tyler & Terrence? They are both young and at this moment there doesn't seem to be any real concerns about Terrence's recovery. What do you mean, "to avoid forcing a pick for OT"? That should be a top priority.
I think Waletzko and Collins may both be ready to contribute this year, but Steele may be ready for game 1 if there are no setbacks. If they cut Tyron and Steele not ready until mid-season then who plays RT?
Cutting Tyron saves 13.6M (Savings split between 2023 and 2024).
They need an answer before the draft to avoid forcing a pick at OT.
I think they keep Tyron 1 more year, but this thread is about the scenario where they cut him.
- Matt Waletzko
- Jason Peters
- Josh Ball
- Aviante Collins
- Isaac Alarcón G/T
- Alex Taylor
……just don’t see him staying healthy enough to play 17 games…..maybe not even 10 games. In this scenario it's probably Peters
If they keep Tyron, the plan will be Tyler at LG after Steele returns.I think Waletzko and Collins may both be ready to contribute this year, but Steele may be ready for game 1 if there are no setbacks.
We need a starting LG more than OT.
Unless they draft a guardIf they keep Tyron, the plan will be Tyler at LG after Steele returns.
They'll decide on Tyron before the draft.Unless they draft a guard
