RUMOR: Another Coach Leaving... Herring

If Jason Garrett leaves we go backwards fast unless we hire Shanahan.

I think if Garrett goes Wade is gone and Shanny in.And yes I would take Campo as DC with the quickness, our best defenses were with him as DC.He was always a top 10.

Houck and Garret being out would be a godsend. MY question is why would he leave here since he was brought here and made the ighest paid o-line coach in the NFL? Why would he leave all that money on the table and a better situation to follow ehind Garrett? I wasn't aware Garrett and Houck were that close. I always thought the link was Jerry and Houck.

Houck and Garrett coached together at Miami and are friends. Wade Wilson and Garrett played together one year.

Herring? Never heard of him.

We have one coach in Red, and another in Herring.

Red Herring. Whatever that means.

Houck and Wade have a coaching history, as well. may not be as close as Garrett's, but it wouldn't shock me if he were to stay if Garrett leaves.

This is a problem we face when we have a lame duck coach who isn't getting a contract extension. Coaches who are able to leave, should leave now for future job security.

Herring wasn't going to stick around anyway. He got fired from the Browns, joined A&M. A few months later he jumped to the 'boys. He has a short attention span.

Hopefully this all ends with Wade and Stew being dumped and Garrett named head coach. As Ive said in another thread that way Garrett can name Capers def co. Heres the kicker, Capers longtime runningmate is Vic Fangio of the Baltimore Ravens. In truth I like Fangio alot better then Capers, but hey, whatever it takes. You bring in Fangio and give him the title....asst head coach/linebackers. He takes Herrings spot. Pretty sweet deal. Fangio goes back a long way. VERY impressive career running attacking style D's. Now he's also put in a couple years in the Rex Ryan stuff. Always good to add to the knowledge base.

Well I'm not surprised by that. He left A&M pretty quickly so I would have been surprised if he stayed here anyway.

Look for Josh McDaniel to be named Broncos HC. Maybe as early as tomorrow.

I swear if the Lions hire Garrett and they win a post season game before we do all of his critics are getting banned. I will exact my revenge on you people.

:chop:

I was asked by the information supplier to put RUMOR in the thread title so as not to get anyone in trouble since this is not officially out yet. One other site had a report about it tonight and retracted it with an apology to OSU. Money might still be being discussed so it is not Official yet. Expect it to be though very soon.

John Garrett, Houck and Wade Wilson.

I wouldn't mind Wilson leaving but I dont want John Garrett and Houck to go.

Houck is a great offensive line coach

I wouldn't say great, he's solid though.

John Garrett IMO is a very good TE coach.

I know people will say 'he's not a 3-4 guy' but whatever.

Why hasn't Ken Norton Jr. been getting looks as an NFL coach at some level.

He's doing wonders at USC with his LB's. I know they recruit major talent but he still has to coach 'em up.

Plus he's a former Cowboy.

Besides I think Wade is doing all the real coaching on defense in 2009 because he had better not give the reigns back to Stewart.

I think a LB coach is more about attitude anyway.

yea we looked great this year.
Tell me how Ken Whisenhunt looked as an Offensive Coordinator in 2006 with the Pittsburgh Steelers BEFORE he got the job as HC of the Arizona Cardinals.

Makes you wonder how he even got interviews by your "logic."
