He had surgery on both knees too. You said knee injuries aren't a problem after surgery. That's not always true, even nowadays.

it depends on how old you are, and after the surgeries, I believe Anderson was in his 30s

When the best player on the board is one of the best to come out in YEARS, you draft him. Bush is by far the best player available. If it were close, I'd take the bigger need. But it's not close.

I still think they should entertain trade offers

It'll be funny when they set up a trade for Bush. This will effectively negate the Texans' "We couldn't find a trade partner" excuse.

True.

And when I said NO would be crazy not to take bush, I was meaning that they would be crazy to draft someone else other then bush. A trade down is different. If they can trade down 2 spots with the Jets, and get a good deal, they could still get Ferguson and that would be more ideal for them.

I'd feel sorry for Bush having to play for the Jets though.

Everyone keeps talking about which QB the titans should pick (Young cuz of the Owner, or Leinart cuz of Norm Chow). What if Reggie Bush were available to them?

Anyway, the Saints better take Bush cuz that's who I have them taking in my mock draft. :D

you saw how much Edge and Shaun Alexander were going to fetch last year when they were being shopped around, a 2nd, I doubt Nawlins wants to let go of the proven Deuce for only a 2nd, for an unproven Bush

Why not?? You can take the consensus #1 RB, who many compare to Gale Sayers, an upgrade in my eyes over Deuce. Then you get an extra pick in the 2nd to fill holes. That's the thing. They have so many holes, they're not gonna fill them all at #2 anyway. Pick up another, then Bush is like a luxury pick... not bad.

summerisfunner said:
he wrecked both knees

But you said knees aren't problems after surgery... Does it matter if there's one or two surgeries?? It's not like they're half as effective if you do it on both knees right?

summerisfunner said:
but that's the thing, Nawlins doesn't have all their holes filled

It was a hypothetical. You have to pick someone right? The principal that you only draft for positions of need is too broad... it always depends on the circumstances.

And they're not going to fill all their holes in one pick. If you can get a pick for Deuce, then you have that pick back and an upgrade at RB. It's a deep draft, you can get value other spots. IMO Bush is the surest thing out of the Top 5... Leinart, Young, Ferguson, Williams and Bush.

He'll be 34 this september. He was hurt in 1999 (7 years ago). He was only 27.

Fairly certain that the Saints signed Duece to a new deal LAST season.
They are not likely in the market for a top 5 RB pick (salary) at this point.

Some of you guys seemingly love Bush to death. Personally, I think he could end up being a little bit of a disappointment in the NFL.

damnit, I need to start researching before I speak

but it's 2 knee surgeries, pretty hard to overcome, and if Javon Walker can come back from his ACL tear, than Deuce can too

A new deal doesn't make him irreplacable or untradeable.

And what's not to love about Bush?? Sorry I don't get it. But then again, I saw him play almost every game this season.

Javon Walker hasn't come back... yet. We've yet to see him play since.

If he had overcome it the first time (as you said, knee injuries aren't a problem after surgery) he would of been fine, right? ;)

Pretty sure he hurt the same knee both times, but I may be wrong. If I remember correctly, he had the second injury against the cowboys and wasn't touched on the play (till after he blew out the knee).

exactly, that's why they should trade down to get more picks, San Fran has 2 1sts, and one that's in the top 10

2 knee surgeries is nothing to sneeze at, and if Javon Walker can come back from his ACL tear, than Deuce can too

I don't think any player is ever a sure thing, but out of Bush, Leinart, Young, Williams, and Ferguson I'd say Bush is EASILY the closest thing to a sure thing.

yeah, but it makes you think long and hard about taking another RB and giving him as big a contract

Not saying he cant be replaced. I am saying that That is a ton of money to tie up in a position when there are so many other holes.

Bush is an incredible athlete. So is Michael Vick.

My problem with Bush is the talent he faced overall as a player. Not to mention the talent he was surrounded by.

I hope that he makes me a believer. I simply am not sold.

I'm not saying they won't trade down... I'm saying they would consider Bush. I mean if no one wants to trade into #2 they have to take somebody.

but from all indications he's going to come back

Indications are Bush will be the next GREAT back... You're not buying those, thus I'll reserve my judgment on whether Walker has "come back" from an ACL tear.

I said IMO, this is your opinion. Who's the surest thing out of those 5 then??

Based on what ?

People thought Brian Bosworth was a sure thing, people thought that Shuler was a sure thing, the list goes on and on.

this is what I'm saying, I'm not saying they won't take Bush, just with Deuce, they'll be very willing to trade down to acquire more picks and use their 1st elsewhere, and they'll probably find a very willing trade partner in San Fran

and sure thing? Mario Williams, but he's a Texan

Based on my opinion, Chico.

Why are you here anyway? Oh that's right. Skins fans have nothing to get excited about on draft day.

J/k.

And you obviously didn't read my post. Please go back and read it again. I don't feel like repeating myself.

Williams is already doomed.

1) He's being compared to Reggie White. No freakin' way is he the next Reggie White.

2) He's a Texan.
