Hey fellas, I was talking to my brother who is a big Titans fan and he subscribes to all the insider websites and stuff about the Titans and he was telling me that the word coming out of Tennessee is that the Titans are not going to pay CJ his $8 million dollar salary next year.

This is already an article on NFL.com about CJ refusing to take a pay cut saying that the losing is "a team effort".

So, regardless of what happens Sunday, do yall think the Cowboys should go after CJ? He did have over 2000 yards in 2009 and he seems pretty durable. I cant remember him having any major injuries.

What do yall think?

what the? I think we have a great back, and for rookie contract money. Maybe after next season we might get some vet to be a backup but I don't think the team wants to blow through the cap on a high priced RB.

I would take him as a change of pace back IF we got a new head coach who actually runs the ball. Otherwise, if we keep Garrett, it's a waste of time and money.

Yea, I have no confidence that Garrett would know how to use him..............CJ would have to go up to Garrett and beg for carries during the game..................LOL

Change of pace back...he won't come here for that no matter who is coaching.

Next year is Murry's last year on his rookie contract and he becomes a free agent..........obviously you are not going to sign both backs to new contracts so it would be replacing Murray with CJ.

Rather grab a fresh back from the college ranks and keep the money for the left tackles and passrushing linebackers.

No thanks. He will be 29 early next season and this guy has had a ton of carries in his 6 years.

I agree

On the open market he'll go for more than what we can afford or even want to pay in relation to the cap.

I agree

If Dallas doesn't make any move other than fire Garrett and gets a decent coach, I'll be ecstatic.

No no no. He checked it in after his 2000 yard season. We dont want a guy like him.

This is a big issue and one reason Johnson is not taking a pay cut. RBs need to get their money ASAP because most of them begin to fade pretty early.
I'm actually surprised how durable this guy has been. I think he has missed just one game in 6 seasons and is one of the few backs in history to go over 1000 yards in their 1st six seasons.

But he now has some mies on those tires. Can't say I blame the Titans for not wanting to pay 8 mil next year for what is giving them at RBs stage.

We will not be a player in the FA market in 2014. We have to clear $20M cap space and will be lucky to get whatever scraps are left.

I would but I think he'd get a little more the minimum. If we clear cap space to sign someone i'd hope its someone along the line or secondary. If he'd take the minium or something along those lines? A cheap deal? I'd do it.
