When you're ready to stop putting words in my mouth and pay attention I'll waste my time replying to you. Until then you can just talk to yourself.

2 replies and your fed up. A day after Christmas too. Oh well, I guess I'll carry on somehow without your philosophical input.

Clearly I was totally wrong here, my bad. Sign the kid, he's got his whole career ahead of him still. *smh*

Google isn't all that difficult. When the crux of your argument is built on one thing, his age, might be nice to get that right at least.

Dude, he was off by one year. Why you givin him a hard time? I've read your posts, you're one heckuva nice guy, so why you coming down on him? Where is the holiday spirit my friend?

I think you have to look at how he's performed recently. In the last 3 seasons, he's been okay, but nothing to shout naked in the woods about. Roughly 4 yds/carry, about 5 TDs a year. Still has that's great breakaway speed, but I think you find someone to give you similar production either through the draft, or with another FA that won't demand what he will. If he's willing to get released instead of taking a cut from 8 mill, he's likely gonna see himself as a number one, and want to get paid like a number one. We don't have the space. I understand your point about Murray being a FA after next year, so the thought would be that you have to pay somebody, but I don't think you do. RB is (arguably) the most dispensable position in the NFL. You can find good ones late in the draft pretty much every year. If we need to pay somebody, I'd rather it be a player of a different position. Besides, like you say, it's not like we really use the running game like we should anyway. And given that, hard to see CJ even wanting to come here.

Just my .02

Good points.................thanks for the feedback.

It would bring back memories of Felix Jones. A lot of big talk and next to no commitment to making him into a weapon.

If Garrett comes back next year (which it looks like he will with Romo out), it would be useless to sign a big money RB when all Garrett is going to do is call pass plays.

I agree about Felix, he was never used correctly in this offense and became a waste of a 1st round pick.

Thanks to everybody for their feedback.................the majority opinion is not to go after CJ.................I agree with that when you weigh the pros and cons.

Hey fellas, I was talking to my brother who is a big Titans fan and he subscribes to all the insider websites and stuff about the Titans and he was telling me that the word coming out of Tennessee is that the Titans are not going to pay CJ his $8 million dollar salary next year.

This is already an article on NFL.com about CJ refusing to take a pay cut saying that the losing is "a team effort".

So, regardless of what happens Sunday, do yall think the Cowboys should go after CJ? He did have over 2000 yards in 2009 and he seems pretty durable. I cant remember him having any major injuries.

What do yall think?

Can he rush the passer?

If not then no the Cowboys shouldn't have any interest.

They've got a nice set of backs in Dallas and there is no need to bring this guy here, who isn't going to want to split time or come cheap btw, when Dallas has glaring defensive needs.

I drafted him this year thinking he'd surprise everyone w the two guards Tennessee acquired in the offseason. I was wrong and I remember reading articles by local sports writers describing the lack of explosion and the unwillingness to fight for extra yards.
He sounds like he got his payday and is content.

Not really. I would just draft a speed back in like the fourth round unless Dunbar comes back.

So, then draft a rb next year. So because we give little to no reps for Randle and Dunbar, because we automatically draft another rb, he gets reps? RB depth is last behind DT, DE, LB, S, OG, QB.

I never said it was top priority. You can still find a back late in the draft after we draft more glaring needs.

Given the cap situation I don't look for the Cowboys making a big splash in FA

We can barely field 53 players in 2014 with the way Stephen has managed the cap. Expect many cuts, and bargain basement pick ups.

Double facepalm. If you thought my whole point was that he is 28 or 29 it went right over your head. Whether he's 28 or 29 doesn't matter, he's shot. Done. Lost a step. That was my point, and he's not gonna get that explosiveness back the older he gets. Got it? Anyway, anybody dumb enough to pay a guy like that who lives off his speed and hasn't been half decent in years, who throws his team mates under the bus constantly, who complains about playing time despite playing awful, deserves what's coming their way. :)

Don't spend your money on RBs. The next Bigtime rusher could be found anywhere in the draft.

Plus if you're going to keep Garrett why would you ever give a RB a average salary?

Can he play free safety? Can he blitz the QB from the corner?
