Rumor: Cowboys interested in LaVar Arrington ***MERGED***

Imagine if we sign him we will have signed ...

The man (Arrington) who KOed a Cowboy icon (Aikman) and the man who "descrated" the Cowboy emblem (TO).

:D

Arrington = another free agent I will be thrilled when he signs somewhere else.

we don't need some overrated , play-when-he-wants-to jerk, that BTW, ended the career of one of our greatest quarterbacks!

enough about arrington already.:banghead:

LOL!! Never thought about it that way. That might be a little much for Cowboy fans to stomach in one offseason.

My question remains this....what reports came out today about this?

Saladin, to be fair, all I did in this ordeal was simply watch the television. :)

And, not that I think he's coming here, but he left it open ended when he said he didn't want to come here...he said something to the effect of, 'but ya never know.' Money talks with this guy.

Dale, you're flying by yourself over free agency territory. And even by posting this 'report' of what you heard on TV you're subjecting yourself to enemy flak...what some of you old krauts call, Flugabwehrkanone, rumor defense cannon, Anti-rumor warfare. That damn 88 mm gun of the rumor artillery.

I'm just your escort...I got your six Dale...but not in that broke back thing way ;)

SIGN HIM and release Al Singleton and Quinton Caver and draft Manny Lawson, cause 9 times out of 10 Lawson is going to be the best player at the pick...

This is Dale posting this. This isn't some troll. And please, none of us thought TO would ever sign here. Anything can happen. And would it be all that bad to sign a guy who absolutely hates his old team and has something to prove! Sometimes, these are exactly the types of players you want to sign.

Are you kidding me???

This is what we've all been waiting for, my friends! I'm not sure people get how good Arrington would make our defense. The man is a phenomenal talent, and he was made to be a 3-4 linebacker. Made for it!

Put him opposite Demarcus Ware & we will have such an incredible outside tandem of pass-rushers, oh my, that it'd be downright sCArY for opposing quarterbacks. They would make a young, strong, fast, supremely athletic duo for years to come & would completely free us up in the early (money) parts of the draft.

We wouldn't have to worry about filling that current need for a play-making linebacker on the strongside (as we'd already have him), and could truly focus on taking the best player available. We could trade back, pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd & select the top offensive tackle on the board, the top receiver, the top free safety. It wouldn't really matter, 'cause all our real needs would have been taken care of.

Man, I have been praying for Arrington to be a Cowboy! The chances have looked bleak 'til now. And while this may all just turn out to be a puff of smoke, having me wake up tomorrow and see that he's signed with Miami or New York, just the possibility that we're looking his way has me very, very excited!

Ware, James, Ayodele and Arrington

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?

The Cowboys have been active in free agency but they, unlike Snyder and the Skins, sign players at prices that are fair for both sides.Lavar is probably the most $$$-driven player in the NFL and I could see him being the last name free agent to sign. The Commanders have already spoiled him with two huge contracts and he's looking for #3.No doubt in my mind he is looking for a similar deal to J.Petersons' Seattle robbery. He won't find that in Dallas.

I highly doubt that, and after the $$$ T.O. has been spoutin' off about the last couple of years, he wouldn't even be the most $$$-driven player on the Cowboys IF he signed.

Then again, its hard to blame 20 & 30 year old's to NOT strike while the iron is hot.

Get it while the gettin's good.

Thought Arrington said he had no interest in playing for us.

Takes two to tango.

Carolina also said they wanted no part of Keyshawn Johnson.

It is all a game.

Actually, I read a rumor about Arrington and us today, but I don't recall where I read it.

It must have been on another board somewhere. I disregarded it as just typical internet bs.

Maybe he read the same thing I did.

I don't know anything about this reporter. Would he be the type to just shoot from the hip and say something like that? Because there hasn't been any credible media reports of us having any interest in Arrington or vice versa.

Unless it's dealing with the Spurs, or a Cowboys situation involving San Antonio (like training camp), Harris will rarely, rarely cite sources. And he clearly stated there was a report indicating we were interested in Arrington....I just can't find for the life of me where the heck he's reading this?

I don't think Dallas can handle both Arrington and TO. That is a locker room explosion waiting to happen. If Dallas does pick up Arrington, they need to structure him like they did TO, that way if he keeps freelancing Dallas can cut him.

I wouldn't be worried about Arrington clashing with Owens.

I would be more worried with Arrington free-lancing and making mental errors.

It'd be a huge pick up. But I sincerely doubt it. I assume a 1st or 2nd rounder will be our starting SSLB.

Well, it is Dale. Few on this forum have as much (inside knowledge) cred.

Personally, I doubt it. But Dale always deserves b.o.d.
B.O.D. = Body Odor Deodorant??
