Rumor: Dez Bryant

No... Only the positive things.

Quite frankly with the Dallas media and the way they are if one outlet has it and it is substantiated then the other ones aren't going to hold off. Eatman or Spagnola might but guys like Werder, McMahon, Watkins and Galloway would be all over it like stink on ****.

Even as an unsubstantiated rumor its getting a good amount of play as your want to vindicate it shows.

Now its possible that the Cowboys have closed rank and they cannot get a verification but it just sounds like a rumor and not even a bit more.

I think he could have and would have played, I think effectiveness was the issue IMO.

How do you know? I suggest you listen to yesterday's Talkin' Cowboys. Spags said he was watching Dez trying to go through some warm up exercises. He said he tried to do some high stepping deal. His movement was so restricted it was obvious he wasn't going to play. He doubts he'll be ready to play against the Commanders.

Might be true. Dez is making me wonder if he really has the heart for it. A bruise looks like it is going to keep him out two weeks.

Oh good grief.

So you guys didn't believe that Dez was going to be out last week, and now you don't believe that he's skipped rehab. Well, I guess it's your right to keep your head buried in the sand, but this stuff doesn't get made up without some basis in reality most of the time.

Exactly. Let's see, he had issues like this in college, he had issues like this last year... But now they've completely disappeared?

Again, what if they are true? I could see people jumping to his defense if the claims were that he used drugs, or beat women, or regularly hung out with gang members. But tardiness? Who cares?

Everyone needs to calm down. This claim that Dez is skipping treatment is coming from a radio show that has proven in the past that they just like to spew things out of nowhere and are usually full of ****.

As far as his injury, a deep thigh bruise is more detrimental than some here think. It inhibits the athlete to accelerate and decelerate and is not really something you can play through, he can't run! He showed toughness to play through it in the Jets game but we all saw how it was affecting him, there's no sense in putting him out there if he can't move. It's gonna have to heal before he can play again.

This team trusts Dez, all you needed to see was the first quarter of the Jets game. Our offense went through Dez, that's all the proof you need if you're questioning if the team thinks they can rely on him.

If it is true then Garrett is the HC he needs to handle it if it is not true then this just becomes a story to beat up on a guys and FOX showed with their lies on Cutler that believe it or not these stories are not always what they appear to be.

Unfortunately, that is all we have seen. Maybe for Dez, that was enough.

There's a big difference between some dumb producer making up headlines and Sapp reporting something that he's heard from people. Again if you want to blind yourself to the possibility, well, that's your choice. Maybe it's not a big deal, he got a flat tire on the way in or something. We'll find out eventually.

Some of you need to really lighten up about this bruise. We have no idea how bad it is. A bruise can be anything between microscopic bleeding into the muscle to a large hematoma or collection of blood in the thigh. I've seen these get infected and require surgery to drain and treat them. They can be bad enough to be very dysfunctional. ie, you can't walk much less run and play professional football.

So unless you know this bruise is very minimal then you probably should reserve your opinion on Dez being a wussy about this. Even with no obvious signs of trauma I've seen these take days before someone could run. I've worked with football and hockey teams in the past and injuries aren't always easy to deal with.

Have boiled it down to this: although I'm in complete awe of his on-field talent, I don't respect the way that Dez Bryant approaches his job

I'm not being blind but even Sapp said "IF" it is not a fact.

“NFL Network's Warren Sapp told ESPN Dallas on Tuesday that if stories about Dez Bryant missing treatments and skipping out on team meetings are true” So show me the fact or let me guess facts do not mean jack to you, as long as you can get in your agenda

I never said this did not happen but there is nothing there to say it did that is why it is called a rumor as opposed to calling it a fact

If this happened and Garrett did not approve it then as HC I would expect him to address it with Dez

Yeah, let take it to the extreme. Did anyone say cut him? I guess the truth hurts for you so you go to the extreme.

The team needs Dez to step up, their are serious questions about him, no one is denying he has unlimited potential and talent. All that talent is no good if he is always hurt or dealing with off the field issues. The skipping meetings and treatments is not exactly new information. Is is a reoccurring issue with him.

You don't even know if he has, in fact, been skipping ANYTHING. So the "truth" you bring up is just the "truth" as you want to see it.

Still no credible source that this is happening now. They could still be referencing last year.

Don't believe it. Frankly, I have no trust in the news media whether it's politics, sports, etc. In this day where sources aren't identified & the media feels no need to verify, I personally require heck of a lot of confirmation from various sources and specific details i.e. what day/date did he skip rehab, when did he skip meetings/practices. Wouldn't be surprised if some of this is rehash of info going back to college days.

Just don't think Garrett would tolerate it--not when he is OK with an injuried Romo playing Monday night. It would be a slap in the face to Romo cause he really needs Dez to play if he able.

Well, at least Sapp has accomplished his goal (report rumor, get Cowboys fans in arguments, watch the website hits add up).

I find your comments amusing in light of your Internet moniker. :laugh1:

However, trusting him as a talent is one thing. Trusting him to finish the game is another. The former is instantly earned. The latter takes time, and Dez, for all his all-world talent, has not been the specimen of health. So none of us, not even his teammates, can say for certain he will be their down the stretch when the team needs him.

I could be wrong, but I don't recall many people thinking he wouldn't miss the SF game. Maybe some were *hoping* he wouldn't miss it or they just don't understand that a deep thigh bruise restricts movement. I know that I wasn't refuting reports of him not playing.

But....

That's what the media does around here.

They make up stuff and lie. They also like to get 1 source who may or may not be credible and immediately shoot it off.

The only guy I trust is Todd Archer.

Why?

Because he's shown that he consistently verifies his sources and his agenda is to be accurate. And...that's what he is....accurate.

I also think it's easy for the Dez haters to bury their head in the sand when it comes to Garrett.

In just a short time, Garrett has cut Barber, Roy Williams, Leonard Davis, Montrae Holland, Marc Colombo and Andre Gurode.

That's six *starters* on offense.

Those last 3 players are in particular telling because they were guys that showed up to camp out of shape.

Garrett saw this and decided he wasn't going to put up with it and has inserted rookies in their place.

As I stated in a post before Gurode and Holland were cut...it's obvious that 'Coach Garrett don't play.'

Instead, we want to believe some radio hack who like the rest of the Dallas media is consistently wrong on reports.

If we were under Wade's thumb, I could see. He had a propensity of wanting to get the veteran/star players out there there and do their thing. But with Garrett, it's obvious that you do things his way or you hit the bricks.
