What if it is happening? Then what? And if he is getting fined a ton and nothing is coming from that, then what?

I don't know what did Dallas do to Emmitt when he would fall asleep during these team meeting? Not rumor but from the mouth of Troy, Mike and Emmitt himself.

I'm not going to make any excuses for Dez if this report is accurate I would expect Garrett to get on his case and fine him. If Garrett thinks more should be done then as the HC do what you think is the best.

Part of me says 'who cares Plaxico Buress never practiced or went to meetings in 2007', but if Garrett is going to build a smart, disciplined, healthy locker room he cant have players with rampant disregard for the rules.

if your sleeping in the meeting you may as well not be there since your getting nothing from it by sleeping

As for punishment if reports are as claimed then that really falls on Garrett shoulders.


Let me say I have bought into other reports over the years and jumped the gun only to find out the facts were not so clear cut as 1st reported.

I could be wrong, but I don't recall many people thinking he wouldn't miss the SF game. Maybe some were *hoping* he wouldn't miss it or they just don't understand that a deep thigh bruise restricts movement. I know that I wasn't refuting reports of him not playing.

But....

That's what the media does around here.

They make up stuff and lie. They also like to get 1 source who may or may not be credible and immediately shoot it off.

The only guy I trust is Todd Archer.

Why?

Because he's shown that he consistently verifies his sources and his agenda is to be accurate. And...that's what he is....accurate.

I also think it's easy for the Dez haters to bury their head in the sand when it comes to Garrett.

In just a short time, Garrett has cut Barber, Roy Williams, Leonard Davis, Montrae Holland, Marc Colombo and Andre Gurode.

That's six *starters* on offense.

Those last 3 players are in particular telling because they were guys that showed up to camp out of shape.

Garrett saw this and decided he wasn't going to put up with it and has inserted rookies in their place.

As I stated in a post before Gurode and Holland were cut...it's obvious that 'Coach Garrett don't play.'

Instead, we want to believe some radio hack who like the rest of the Dallas media is consistently wrong on reports.

If we were under Wade's thumb, I could see. He had a propensity of wanting to get the veteran/star players out there there and do their thing. But with Garrett, it's obvious that you do things his way or you hit the bricks.

Oh, so that's it. Now I see... If this is true, then it's some kind of bad reflection on Garrett. No wonder people are so upset by such minor transgressions.

Garrett isn't really a deity. He can't change guys' personalities just by laying hands on them. If people thought, and think, that we're never going to have any discipline problems whatsoever just because he's the coach, they really need to wake up. Every coach who has ever lived has had to deal with the balancing act of talented players who weren't perfect all the time. Garrett is no different.

BTW, all those guys who were cut save maybe Holland were old and overpaid. Dez is neither. Not even close to the same situation.

Just a quick question. If this was a rumor about Romo how many of you would believe it? Not making a race issue out of it at all, I just wonder if this was reported about him how many people would be saying " Well of course he is at the golf course wearing his hat backward with his blond girlfriend."? I would think the way he is crucified around here that lots of people would believe it and be begging for Kitna to play. I may be totally wrong on this and I am prepared to duck.

How is that? It is only a bad reflection on Jason if he does not deal with the issue.

Not sure anyone would think or implied that Garrett is going to magically make little football angels out of everyone.

Theres a ton of smoke around Dez missing meetings. Back to his college days. Mosley told me that Jerry was upset when Dez missed the "lets be quieter during the off-season" meeting.


Not that big of a deal but I dont think Garrett wants guys openly dissing his rules if he wants to build a smarter team than in years past.
