Rumor: Dolphins trying to trade up to 3 for Zeke

Eric Berry, selected 5th overall as a safety, is a perfect example of why this whole drafting a safety high nonsense is wrong,

You can't base that on that. Each year is different and depends on what kind of talent you have in the draft. And besides....don't we already have Jones to cover TEs? He did that well last year.

And what an amazing series of moves for the Dolphins.

They take the Eagles' overpaid trash, and swap draft picks, moving down from #8 to #13 to do it! Then they follow up that move by then wanting to give up the rest of their draft to move back up for a running back!

Who's running the show in Miami?

I responded similarly to a post on this before reading yours. They have had quite the offseason so far.

I can't believe any one would believe this nonsense. But that's fine with me we were never going to take Zeke at 4. The only thing that would make it sweeter is if SD does take Ramsey and all the Zeke at 4 cats have to watch the Cowboys pass. They were never going to take Zeke at 4. I can't wait until its over. So I can gloat.

Could you be more obnoxious? It is one thing to not want a certain player but to so openly voice your desire to "gloat" over the potential disappointment of fellow fans is just low.

It would be funny if they made a blockbuster deal to get him and we signed him later like we did with Blair thomas and McFadden.

The Zeke at 4 folks deserve the ridicule that is coming after all the statements and actions that the Jones' have made showing that they do not value RBs highly and the fact that the rest of the league is in step with the Cowboys view.

Its not that I dont want Zeke I would to have him if we could trade down but he is not going at 4. RB spend almost twice as much time on injured reserve than any other position on the field you dont take them top five and pay all that guaranteed money. Not even AP was taken top five Gurley went 10th EE will mot go at 4. If he does then Jerry will deserve the ridicule that the analysts will sure dish out.

Yeah and look at all the time McFadden spend on IR during his rookie contract. That's why you don't take RBs top five.

I don't think it's possible. SD would be completely taking themselves out of the running for a top OT, Ramsey, Buckner or whoever they targeted at #3. They'd have to work a side deal to move back up to make this scenario even realistic. I'm not buying it. Maybe Miami would like to move up, but it looks impossible from here.

At the end of the day, i believe Elliot and (Ramsey-or-Tunsil) will be on the board for Dallas to choose.

And you know this how? What happens if we DO take Zeke at #4? Hmm

Will you eat the crow and gladly support our team with Zeke? Or will you still hope he is a bust just so you can be right?

If Dallas takes Zeke at four I will start a thread myself and publicly apologize and ridicule myself for believing that Jerry had changed his ways and had finally become a good GM.

Didn't the Dolphins draft Jay Ajayi last year? I remember a lot of clamor for him last year? Have they soured on him that much that they willing to trade into the top 3 for another RB? I think this rumor is BS.

Well, my stance is, if you really love a player, the risk of trying to get cute and trade down is that he might not be there later. So sometimes it is just better to sit there and just take him and not get cute!

Agree 100%. But I also think you have to take a calculated risk at times to move up to prevent a player you covet from being snatched right from under you (seems to be re-occurring the last few drafts; mostly after 1st round but worked out w/the Martin pick admittedly). Like if we like Joseph (SS), Ogbah, or Dodd enough, trade one of our 4ths and 6ths to move back into the late 1st to get him instead of waiting @ 34, etc.

There was a rumor that he could have been cut in training camp. I didn't buy into it, but there's probably enough truth to it that you have to believe they very much want Elliot

To me, it makes very little sense for Miami not to sign Miller, only to turn around and trade what would be the bulk of their draft to get a RB.

That said, this would be a great scenario for the Cowboys. With both Ramsey and Tunsil still on the board, there is a high likelihood of suitors for the #4 overall pick.

Im sure they want Elliot. But to get there to #3 and for it to make sense to SD to move down 10 spots...it just doesn't add up

I agree with that, but I also believe that Stephen Ross is arguable the worst owner in the NFL and I can see him forcing the team to trade up

Yes, San Diego would definitely lose out on Buckner and Tunsil and even more.

Because he had a serious non-football related illness? A freak occurrence?
