I don't know about all that...

besides, we all know ESPN the magazine ain't worth anything (unless you use it for the fireplace). I would reject that trade just cause you threw that in there :)

You know you have a subscription for BSPN the -agazine...LOL!

Exactly. They may have Willis pegged right now, but if Peterson slips, I see them jumping all over him.

The only issue that I have with that is that Denver has shown in the past that it doesn't value RB's that highly... or should I say that they don't feel like it's difficult to find a good RB. They find Terrell Davis late, find Portis in the 2nd and then proptly trade him away when he asks for big money. I just think Denver feels like it can find a runner for it's system in later rounds and want's an impact defender with their first.

Having said that, they could look at Peterson as such a big value at 10 that they feel like they have to take him.

Who knows?

Who's to say that Denver won't take Peterson or Revis.. they love RB's and they need a corner.
They just got Bly, have Bailey on the roster, and also have Foxworth...I highly doubt they take Revis.

They're not exactly big fans of drafting RBs in the first. I can't see Denver taking AP.

The stupidity in HOU continues.
Not sure how this is a bad deal for Houston.

They may or may not get actual value for their slot, but when you're short on talent like they are getting more picks is the best way to go.

According to the widely used chart Houston should have gotten Denver's 3rd as well to even things out but maybe they decided to take whatever they could get and run with it.

10th = 1300 points

21st = 800 points

56th = 340 points

With that trade Houston comes up 160 points short, while Denver's 3rd rounder is worth - you guessed it - 160 points.

tha chart is outdated and no longer applies according to jeery jones... and it was originally created by dallas....

it has been stated there are 7 or 8 prime selections then it tails off some.
the 10th pick would be below that threshhold.

I do not think houston would get a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd for 10. They may well get a 1st, 2nd and a pick next year but its doubtful it will total up to that chart which gave higher choices more points then the current system dictates.

The slotting of salaries had adjusted point values more closely together. The top pick in round 2 is actually worth more than a bottom 5 round 1 pick cause of contract situations.

I really like Peterson a lot and would be ok trading up for him but not in a massive give up of picks.

I'd basically offer a 1,2 and 5th or 6th at most.

I agree with that. Houston has A LOT of holes to fill and needs bodies right now. An extra #2 is a pretty nice thing to have if you're in their situation.

Houston drafted OL last year with Eric Winston and Charles Spencer. Those guys have lots of talent, they just need more time to develop. Houston's biggest needs are secondary and WR, and early 20's is where the value should be at both of those positions. They reportedly like Aaron Ross a lot.

I really see Buffalo as a viable trading partner, as they need LB's in the worst way and there should be value there at #22. Levy reportedly love Polusczy.

Texans | No deals completed yet
Fri, 27 Apr 2007 12:27:15 -0700

Updating ongoing reports, ESPN's John Clayton reports a trade between the Houston Texans and any other team will not happen Friday, April 27. If anything is going to happen, it would take place during the NFL Draft Saturday, April 28.

Kind of obvious. If Denver wants Patrick Willis, wouldn't they make sure that he's on the board before doing the deal?

REPORT OF TEXANS-BRONCOS TRADE NOT TRUE

There's a report on a web site that posts football new snippets in small blurbs with even smaller fonts that used to get a lot more traffic than us (but no longer does) stating that the Broncos have consummated a trade with the Texans for a flip-flop of the No. 10 and No. 21 pick in the draft.

But Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the report is false, and that the Broncos and Texans have not had a single serious discussion about swapping picks.

Schefter also says that the Broncos would never do a deal like this before the draft. That makes sense to us, since the purpose of moving up would be to get a specific guy who might or might not be there when the higher pick is used.
