he must be knocking their socks off with his WR skills for them to experiment like this.

That's what I was thinking. Defensive back is where you put a receiver that can't catch.

I smell another Skylar Green here.

Sounds to me he's being used for dual person while helping out on the scout team. When scout team is on offense, he's working on his WR skills. When scout team is on defense, our limited CB situation makes him good candidate to play that position. Should also point out that working at CB, could also enhance WR learning curve as he sees the field from their perspective. Sorry if I think this rumor is nonsense. Stop worrying.

This is bad news if you ask me. First he cannot catch punts then passes now he is a CB who probably can't tackle.

What agenda?

The guy hasn't played a single down of football. I don't know if he is any good or not. I really don't care either. He has to be able to do something, doesn't he?

We coulda kept Glenn.

Yes, his contributions in Jacksonville suggest he'd make a huge impact here.

How about this, then? On the official board with the link, some were visualizing Stanback covering Moss....and being good at it.

I kid you not.

Here is the post that got this silly rumor started .....

"Okay my cusin lives out in corpus christy and made the trip to see the cowboys practice on Wed. He is a big cowboys fan and has doubted the drafting of Stanback for widereciever thus the reason I was so surprised when he called me to tell me how amazing he did in practice. The thing of it is he wasn't playing WR he was playing CB and was lined up against T.O. The only thing I can think of is that they are planning on using him against another high profile WR with a style close to T.O. any ideas? hmmmm? maybe Moss in week 6? I don't know. They may just be trying to see where he would be most usefull but my cuz said that he did great against T.O. he had 3 picks knocked the ball down alot and made good tackles when T.O. did catch the ball. What do you guys think about this idea?"

I thought practices were closed? This sounds like agenda driven bullcrap to me ...... something like Edunce would post.

Practices are closed this is pure BS

That dude needs spell check too, I mean he can't even spell Corpus Christi? wth

Besides all those other indicators that it's a BS post, did anyone catch the comment about Stanback tackling T.O. 3 times? Yeah, I'm sure Wade has 'em going full contact in a week 5 practice.

But hey, at least those people are seeing this baloney in a postive light. That's better than using it as evidence that the guy is a bust.

Kind of funny to me that one of the bigger Carpenter defenders (IIRC) is using this "news" to bash Stanback in this thread. Maybe he's being facetious.

Now please excuse me while I create a new thread on how I saw Newman running some pass routes with the WRs. Obviously, that indicates that the coaching staff thinks he'll never make it as a corner. Guess it's a last-ditch effort to try to salvage something out of the player. I doubt it works, though. Whatta waste of a #5 overall pick.

I dont care what position he is playing......I really dont. He is a bottom feeder right now, so he better damn well do what the coaching staff tells him. His main job right now is to make sure the regulars are ready for the next game. If he does his job, our starters and primary reserves will be ready. I dont care if he plays QB, WR, CB, P, K, LS, or waterboy. Hell, you can give him some pom poms as far as I am concerned. As long as he does what is asked of him to the best of his ability and with a smile on his face........I am happy.

I would like to see him as a KR and PR, but it's obvious that Wade feels differently right now. I have even wanted to see him on a reverse option pass play.

I didn't know dc.com had a messageboard. It's kind of crappy. They should make this the "official" board. Make it happen Jerry.

He might make a decent Free Safety but a CB ????

I don't see it...

No way the guy plays CB. He runs entirely too choppy as a receiver... the guy could never be a CB.
