Rumor: Jim Irsay tweets about Possible Trade

I've been impressed with our young depth. Butler and Wilson look like players.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Cowboys have a change of heart about Jenkins because of the youth.

The colts first round pick should be top ten this year, I think. That would be sweet.

I know Jenkins has a fan club here, but to even think he is worth a high first round pick is insane. Dude is inconsistent in addition to only having one year left on his deal. Oh and lets not forget he is still hurt.

If Jenkins was so good, we don't add 2 CBs. I know this is fighting words for some here, but he isn't nearly as good as some here think and you'll see that when it comes time for his next contract. Good player? Absolutely. Top 10 CB ha!

No shot we get a first or even a second for Jenkins. He's hurt as we speak. If there even is a trade it will be for someone more high profile

I'd love for it to be Jenkins but Im just thinking logical lol

With the law of supply and demand the price of the product increases. I think that is what we could be seeing here with Mike Jenkins and the Colts if there really is an interest. They need CB badly and there aren't a lot of starter-quality CB's sitting around, other than Jenkins. He may not be Darrell Revis, but he ain't no Allan Ball either. His is still a quality #1 CB with the ability to make the pro bowl when healthy, plus he is still young. For a team like the Colts, that is golden opportunity. If they feel he will be able to help their team this year and are willing to give up a 2nd rounder or higher for him, by all means get 'er done.

First and foremost this is a Twitter Rumor but Jim Irsay has tweeted that the team is heavily involved in trade talks where they give up a high draft pick for a veteran player who they would need to pay.

Local Indy reporters believe they are interested in a CB. Could Mike Jenkins be the player they are discussing. Remember, only a rumor at this point.

Maybe the Colts are looking to deal Sampson Satele or one of the younger guys for Felix Jones or Mike Jenkins...or both. I say Sampson, because it seems like a team that is obviously rebuilding, might have second thoughts about the trade and look to fortify other positions, if they think the younger guys can develop. I mean, you don't want Andrew Luck running for his life, but at the same time, Andrew Luck running is very rarely a bad thing.

Personally, I think we should keep Jenkins. But at the same time, Rob Ryan is still in the benefit-of-the-doubt stage of his coaching stay here, so should he want to pull the trigger on a trade like that, I won't question it...yet.

A 3rd round pick is still a high pick IMO. If it is indeed Jenkins they were interested in, I think that's the round we are talking about. At least it SHOULD be an early 3rd round pick as the Colts should be horrid this year.

Jim Irsay tweeted on Thursday night that the Colts were working on a big deal for a "SERIOUS Vet/starter." Irsay pumped up the possible acquisition and said that the Colts would be giving up a high pick and cash. With that information, there were only two logical options as trade targets: Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace and Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew.
Applying logic to a Jim Irsay tweet can be hazardous.
Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports that the Colts were not talking trade about Wallace or Jones-Drew. (Which should make MJD happy.) The report also ruled out Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins and Ravens cornerback Cary Williams.

Sorry, looking like it's NOT Jenkins.

Commanders d-hall? they need picks and dhall sucks and is overrated. He also had some bad remarks about the defense acouple times last year.

hes under the belief that the Bengals offered a 1st for bennett and JJ turned it down.....

I thought it was a 4th and Chris RIP Henry.

I definitely wouldn't mind trading Teddy Williams for a first. Make it happen Jerry :)

On a serious note, the newest update is Dolphins Vontae Davis is one possibility.

If it's Philly, I'd assume the target is DRC.

If Jenkins gave up on the 2010 Dallas cowboys, You wouldnt see him doing so well in Indy. Jenkins seems like the type of guy that if he leaves here, he would only wanna go to a team thats stacked.

I think Jenkins would go to the team that offered the most money and mail it in right after he gets the big contract

I doubt there's anything to it being Jenkins with the shoulder and whatnot, but I have a hard time taking a source too seriously who thinks that you can trade cash in the NFL.

it was something like that, in my post i was referring to the position alot of the JJ haters take that it was a 1st and JJ turned it down .....but i know the 1st rounder was just a rumor

Tell me again why is an owner saying these things and not the head coach or gm?

That's because Jerry Jones hijacked Jim Irsay's Twitter account.

ONLY Jerry Jones says these things.

Reggie Wayne and a 5th round pick for Jenkins. If only this were Madden.

They are looking for a high quality CB and Mike Jenkins doesn't even come close. Heck, he can't even get on the field right now. I hope they are looking for a high end CB from the NFC east though... maybe from Philly? Anything to weaken the teams in our division is fine with me.

It's ok for all other teams in the universe...as long as the name is not Jerry Jones....

irsay is an al davis/jerry jones "in-making"

you know the school of:

1) "i want the team to win but only if i get the bulk of the credit"

2) "no publicity is bad publicity"

3) "notoriety trumps winning"

sad but true
