Just my 2 cents - I also think he is more valuable to the team this year, with the prospect of a compensatory draft pick if he signs a reasonable deal with someone next year. (Pick for 2018).
However, SJ did say they would move him at draft time if they had got a reasonable trade offer. So, by that logic, if there is any truth to this rumor, it would have to be a fairly good deal for both teams right ? Will be pissed if they give him away for a song and a dance (Don't really see it ...)

Maybe, but that would be in 2018 IF we lose more FAs than we sign

It still would only be a 5th or 6th which really is a 6th or 7th because they are awarded at the end of the regular round for rounds 3-7, 32 in total or an entire extra round
