RUMOR MILL | Anyone hear where Jon Gruden says he wants to be Cowboys OC?

I hate the word of mouth stuff..some video would be nice to put those words in context. I don't know how you would find that though.

We talked about this monday, this was my fantasy philosophy.

Since gruden is the low guy on the todem pole of available coaches, and since he wont be getting money from Tampa next year while working for espn HIm being an OC again makes sense.

It would be pretty awesome to have him as oc with holmgren as head coach.
We already have a wr and rb coach that have been with one or both of them.

I wonder if someone just read something on the internet, maybe even here and started saying this stuff. It makes no sense for gruden to publically want to be an OC.

well one of my friends said he was watching an nfl films show on espn and gruden was asked those questions;

god i hope its true

if we could get garrett out of here and bring in someone who knows how to run an offense it would be a blessing.

gruden would be welcomed with open arms.

we would just need someone to come on and run this defense.

ok my friend says was on nfl films on espn 2 this afternoon, thats all i know
gruden went on to say, when he was asked if he would rather be the head coach or what position if was asked, gruden said he wouldnt mind being offensive coordinator, just to get back into the flow of the NFL

thats when gruden went on to say that he could really have plays where the offense excelled and he saw players on this team that could really make the wildcat work in dallas; etc

was some kind of nfl films show on espn 2 this afternoon, where gruden was asked questions,

we need proof, I'm all for it but it's hard thing for me to believe w/o audio/video.

i did a search and found this;
2:30 pm NFL Films presents talking football
monday night football analyst jon gruden is featured

here is the link, gruden talks about the wildcat but I'm afraid he doesn't talk about being the cowboys OC. Your friend might just be blowing smoke up your pipe...

:(

here is the episode summary:
NFL Films Presents: Talking Football – Thursday & Saturday at 4:30 PM ET
On this week’s show, host Steve Sabol sits down with former Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden to talk football – a subject both are well-versed in. Gruden gives his thoughts on how the game has changed and where he sees the wildcat fitting in to the NFL, his opinion on current players QBs Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and WR Randy Moss and former players like QBs Roger Staubach, Joe Namath and WR Jerry Rice whom he wished he could have coached. Gruden also reveals why he loves the sport so much.

double sad now...

Anyone noticed all the "My friend said" or "A buddy texted me that" threads lately that are completely bogus?

Gonna have to take a look at the video a little later. Caught the 1st part where Gruden slaughters the officiating but internet is being goofy right now.

notice i didnt say i saw it, i was asking if anyone saw it and was saying the same thing

dont know if that was all of the tape though, might have been alittle more
the tape was 11;55
most taped shows are 30 minutes, minus about 7 minutes of commercials

but again, i appreciate the guy putting up the podcast
i have been burned by my friend that says this and that sometimes
im not there to see it so i dont know, thats why i ask;

Bluestang, question, was that all of the video, was just 11;55 seconds long?

I'm not sure if it just was a clip of the entire segment, if you look at the summary they will be re-airing it on Saturday 4:30ET. I have my DVR set to record it.

It is such a simple concept, yet seems to be so foreign to our illustrious GM
