Rumor has it that Detroit is salary cap challenged. If true, what would Jerry be willing to give up to get him? I know many don't like him due to his past antics, but I would love to see him in Dallas. Playing for Maranelli? He'd beast for us. Our pass rush and run defense would instantly improve. He's young and he goes hard every play.

If we want to turn our defense around, I'd like to see Jerry be bold and go after him. He'd anchor our front 7 for years to come.

If Detroit wants to trade because they are cap challenged. How you expect Dallas to fit him under the cap.

Carter and a 2nd. Dallas could easily get him under the cap with a low 1st yr salary.

He'd beast for us till he got his butt suspended for 4 games, then an entire season. Hes just a little too wild for my liking. I dont want a bunch of goody too shoes boy scouts, I want some nasty in my linemen, Suh has shown a propensity to go way beyond wild and into just flat out dirty...kinda reminds me of a Conrad Dobler from the 70's era football, I hated when the boys played the Cardinals, he was dirty, dirty dirty.... I personally wouldn't want him, but if the boys trade for him, it will be fun for a while, just hope we get our moneys worth before he goes all Beast on us.

A Suh trade from the Lions would mean we would have to take on the guaranteed money (if not Detroit would still take the cap hit) and probably give up our first round pick.

You do know this is Suhs final yr right? Suhs bonus money stays with the lions. This isnt the NBA. Only thing the new team takes is the Base Salary but he would get a new deal. With a low 1st yr base. they trade suh his 9mil bonus money gets cut into 2 yrs for the lions. So they gain roughly 8 mil in capspace for 2014.

By trimming some of the fat off our salary cap. We have several players that are not playing up to the levels of their contracts. Austin immediately comes to mind. Sure, he's a 2-time pro bowler, but now? Hardly. Cut him loose.

We could also restructure deals. I'm sure there are a few players that would be willing to do that in order to obtain more cap space to sign a player like that. The question would be can the Cowboys do enough to meet his demands? It would be hard because he is productive.

I think we would have to surrender a 1st round pick - at least. I don't see anyone in the draft that is more impactful than Suh is. So if given the opportunity to go get him, I'm onboard 100%. Probably a pipe dream, and my above scenarios may not be enough (hey I'm no cap guru), but I'd like to see the Cowboys make bold moves to get impact players like Suh to change the culture of our defense. We're too good on paper to continue being 8-8. Time to shake things up in VR.

I see, then what is the cap hit to Detroit even in a trade?

Yes, what I'm saying is Detroit will still have to pick up the bonus money which after the salary still leaves what? 9-10 million? So the lions would have to pay for the Suh to leave? Don't see it happening. Why not sign him to a long term deal and spread it out. The only reason that may not happen is Jay-Z is will be asking 7 years/$100 million at minimum.

Thats still not enough to fit Suh cap hit. Austin only saves us alittle over 5 million. still about 16 million over. Ware paycu and a few restructures might have just enough room to fit it but then we are right at the cap limit again and with out a 1st and then you also have to look at next years cap.

Not going to happen and it shouldn't.

understood, which means he will want more money. He is going to want to be one of the highest paid DTs in the NFL.

Suh has two years left his 2015 year is manageable. His bonus money is all paid so he is straight Salary now and his 2014 salary is 12.5 million

ok his salary is still 12.5 million this year and will still want a big heavy contract. Just don't want to pay him that much. Hate paying players that much plus giving up a draft pick.

The story was all over SportsCenter today. He is due $22.5 this year so the answer is we can't afford him.

no his cap hit is 22.5 million. His Salary is 12,5 million. Still can't afford him. Detroit will have to trade him and still take a almost 10 million cap hit.
