Hey zoners wouldnt it be real funny if big mouth McNabb wound up in Oakland?

Raiders in hottest pursuit of McNabb
Posted by Mike Florio on March 25, 2010 3:55 PM ET
For more than two months, the Eagles played it coy regarding the possibility of trading quarterback Donovan McNabb, hoping for an offer they couldn't refuse.

And then when the offer never came, they needed a Plan B.

Plan B has unfolded far more haphazardly, with coach Andy Reid publicly acknowledging that offers have been made for McNabb and then smoldering rumors of a trade to the Rams becoming a report from Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer that the trade could happened by the end of the week, if not by the end of the day.

(The Rams strongly denied the report, and McLane has since backed off dramatically. But the damage may already have been done. We're hearing that McLane had been hoping to become the new Eagles beat writer for the Inquirer, replacing Bob Brookover, who now covers the Phillies. We're also hearing that the swing and the miss on the McNabb-to-Rams story may have kept that from happening.)

So if the Rams aren't doing a deal, which team will? Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reports that the Raiders are "in heaviest pursuit." Other possibilities are the Bills and Cardinals. (However, one media source with whom we spoke is convinced that Buffalo owner Ralph Wilson would never pay McNabb an eight-figure salary.)

Even though McNabb reportedly prefers Arizona to Buffalo or Oakland, the Raiders have shown that they're not afraid to trade for a reluctant player with only one year left on his contract. They did it last year with defensive end Richard Seymour, who now carries the exclusive level of the franchise tag.

So stay tuned. As explained in the latest edition of PFT Daily, we now think it's just a matter of time before the Eagles move McNabb.

McNabb throws a pretty accurate deep ball as strange as it may sound I think he would be a good fit with the outside speed the Raiders have.

That article talking about Ralph Wilson not willing to give McNabb an 8-figure salary is exactly why the Bills will be trash for a long time.

McNabb doesn't throw anything accurate.

Isn't he like the only QB in NFL history to spend his entire career in the QB-friendly WCO, yet still have a less than 60% completion percentage?

I disagree. McNabb does not throw the shorter routs very well, because he opens his stance so much on short passes he tends to put them in the ground however his deep passes are very accurate. WCO relys on allot accurate short passes and that shows up in his less than 60% but deep balls he has not had problems with.

No he doesn't. Read the article. The Raiders brought in Seymour last year without giving him a new deal. If a team is willing to do that and then franchise him if he won't sign, there need not be a new deal before a trade. The Raiders have shown a willingness to do this.

McNabb's main issue is some times his mechanics break down, ie. his leg locks and he throws a dead duck straight into the turf... you can count on that at least once or twice a game.

A friend just texted me that. I don't know where he heard it, but I just thought I'd share.

Eagles are the ones who want no part of ASO in this deal..at least that is what I have heard..ASO is scheduled to make like 16MM this year and a club option in 11 for almost 17MM..if the team does not pick up his option for 11 he cannot be franchised..likely losing him altogether..

It started on PFT by Mike Florio.

He actually said it was Nnamdi for Samuel and McNabb.

Pastabelly from BSPN confirmed that Oakland is willing to deal ASO

ESPN's Len Pasquarelli confirms that the Raiders would be willing to part with Nnamdi Asomugha in a trade for Donovan McNabb.
It would come down to Philadelphia's willingness to take on Asomugha's contract, though. "Aso" is due $16 million in 2010 with an option year in 2011 available for either $16.9 million or the franchise tag number for quarterbacks, whichever amount is greater. If the '11 option is not exercised, the deal prohibits Asomugha's team from franchise tagging him. Mar. 26 - 1:32 pm et

rotoworld.com

schefter has also been talking about ASO to philly on his twitter account

If true it's time for Al Davis to sign power of attorney over to someone because he's made the transition from stupid to insane.

If they can get Nnamdi for Mcnabb... Jerry should offer Romo to see if we can get a Herchel Walker deal!
