I am not convinced that the issues affecting a small segment of the player union will be a major talking point in the next contract negotiations but I too am very interested to see what will or will not be discussed on the topic.
I truly believe the segment of weed smokers is much larger than what we see on the surface. I don't do the wacky weed. But I suspect it would get approved in some fashion by the players union if put on the ballot.

Commissioner Mara likes to knee cap the Cowboys right before the season. Stings more this way. On a positive front this is a great excuse for Jerry and Jason to work with.

On another front it is highly unlikely OBJ has been in any hotel with coked up strippers since he signed that new contract.

A Cowboy in a similar video would STILL be suspended.

I can honestly say I had no meltdown because of the meeting nor am I having a meltdown now. I will say for many of us there is no benefit of the doubt left for Gregory and it is not because of the media it is not because of Goodell or the NFL it is due to the past actions of Gregory himself. When rumors come out as they did in the past of a violation by Gregory I take that seriously because in the past those rumors were real. In the end if has violated the policy then Cowboys need to move on if they are false then great but given his past I see no reason for fans not to be concerned.
Look, I highly recommend a good meltdown. Just... let it out.

Wait, us mid-30s guys are considered millennials? Sweet! I think.
Birth dates between 1982 and 1996 plus/minus a couple of years depending on who is defining it.

I should have said Gen Z but Millennial sounds better...

The oldest Gen Z would be about 21.

Naming generations is a bit goofy. I would just reference time frames by the decade.

well my understanding is the meeting was to discus these issues, it doesnt matter if he actually failed attest but his staying on the field is much like a criminal being given parole or probation and if you fail to answer he phone when they call, check in via phone when they asked you too , and did not show up for attest, these are the same as a failed test as avoidance makes you guilty..

so him not following the guidelines and yes sometimes you arent suppose to use any alcohol or drugs etc not just pot, only what prescribed via doctor and on your list..Apparently the AWOL stuff is what at issue here and the league is deciding if they should suspend again due to this..

of course right before the giants game , NY Mara and the League main offices in NY LOL

IMO this was and is his last chance if he gets suspended its time to let him go forever come out publicly and state he is off the team permanently and maybe you get the attention of others..Its a shame as you can see his talent but never got on the field to prove it..

Everyone whining about the Cowboys being targeted needs to grow up. RG is extraordinarily fortunate to still be in the league. If not for his elite skill at sacking the QB, he and this are a non-story. The Cowboys FO believe they can repetitively make poor decisions with regards to character concerns.

Who knows what this all means? If RG did fail yet another test, then they need to ban him from the league permanently and just be done with it. In some ways, keeping him on a hook is better for the league and Cowboys. Just adds to the publicity. I don't care to follow this story at this point.
Funny thing. RG has not played enough to prove he has elite skills at sacking the QB. For me, it was easy to write him off when he was dumb enough to puff at the combine knowing that we would be tested for banned substances.

It is not my career in the balance it is his. As a fan I have watched Dallas invest a lot of time on him and got very little in return, my hope is the Cowboys investment pays off and Gregory has great success for the Cowboys. I also know he is walking a very fine line and any screw ups will cost him and put the Cowboys in a bind but then that is the risk the Cowboys were willing to take

I'm not pointing the finger at you. There was a huge thread about the meeting with many meltdowns.

The fact the Gregory does not get the benefit of the doubt is the reason the subject is great click-bait for "reporters".

Hypocrisy? Banning a player from the NFL for smoking marijuana when alcohol and cigarettes, two substances that are 100% KNOWN to be harmful (one a carcinogen), are totally allowed. A backward and broken system.

I agree.

Plus, We now have pharmaceutical companies that profited enormously from creating opioid medications and helped fuel the current opioid epidemic, that are now producing medication to “treat” opioid addiction and are profiting off the treatments.

Some of the treatment medications are opioids themselves.

The hypocrisy in this whole country messed up.

Players can be put up substance abuse for alcohol and legal drugs that are abused. If the league did not tell players the rules and then punished them for violating the rules I would be sympathetic to the players but these rules are known and agreed on by the NFL and the NFLPA. It is not a broken system there is a problem with a player who can't control their own actions.

LOL, that's pretty much all criminal's attitude about everything. "It's backwards I can't break the law." LOL
