Circus, clown show. Can’t get to game 1 without a side show. Very typical of the Jones era. But like Jerry says, any publicity is good publicity.

Let me make it clear - I feel very badly for Randy Gregory the person. Mental illness and/or addiction are terrible, terrible things to go through.
not only that but a distraction from the game for our team which as a young team we don't need

They have to have cowboys drama or else they would lose their jobs due to poor ratings

When you think about it....

If he failed a test, he would be suspended already.

This is a missed meeting or something. It doesn't add up.

This is my line of thinking.

Even when things like this are appealed. The failed test and suspension are always announced before the appeal is filed.

I'm guessing this could be about that meeting he had recently?

I don't know. I don't think it has anything to do with a test either.

This is why I hate this type of behavior from reporters. Posting vague tweets.

Either post all of the information you know, right now. Or, wait until you gather all of the information and THEN post the story.

The vague tweet crap is so damn annoying.

Thx my brother. Don't get why some people get butthurt when you point out the weaknesses of our front office. I hate the league tests for this stuff in the first place but considering they do and Gregory's history is it too much to ask to have a solid contingency plan for him? It reminds me how they've handled Sean Lee for a lot of his career. He'd always get hurt but they'd never plan for it in the off-season.
Dude, aside from the Gregory portion of your post (which I wholeheartedly agree with), there is nothing more disgusting on this site than our good members getting called rival team's fans.

I see it with everyone from yourself (now), to Sydla, to Alexander etc. It is disgusting. It hasn't happened to me, yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

You guys have much more patience than I, Z. You are a wonderful DALLAS COWBOYS fan, and such an asset for our site. I want to balance out that negativity from that other post. Sorry for harping on it in a thread unrelated to this. Still, everyone here should know how much of a true-blue Cowboys fan you are, and not deserving of that nasty bull **** shade.

If it was a failed drug test, why didn't they just suspend him when he just recently met with the NFL?
Cowboys drama has to drag on for ratings.....we’re their last hope before the nfl collapses

The dude has the money, and the resources, from the Cowboys to make this work. Marijuana is NOT an acceptable treatment option for Bipolar Disorder (BD). It simply isn't. While there is a much greater occurrence of use among those with BD, long-term use of marijuana likely decreases recoverability percentages. He has a disease (BD) and he's not doing what he should to get better. I just want the dude to get clean. I also want him off the team.

Influence of Marijuana Use on the Course of Bipolar Disorder

The influence of marijuana use on the course of BD has been examined in three reviews.7 Marijuana use is associated with earlier age of onset of BD,19 prolonged or worsened manic episodes,20 and increased likelihood of suicide attempt.21 A study of patients over a one year follow-up period after their first treatment for BD-I found that continued marijuana use was associated with elevated mood, which in turn was associated with poorer global functioning. These relationships were not explained by differences in age, gender, premorbid functioning or baseline symptoms.

A study conducted in Australia found that marijuana use was associated with decreased likelihood of long-term remission in BD.23 Interestingly, the nature of the association depended on gender and medication type. Specifically, marijuana use was associated with lower remission rates for depressive symptoms in women and for manic symptoms in men. Furthermore, remission rates for depressive symptoms were lower in cannabis users prescribed mood stabilizers alone, whereas remission rates for manic symptoms were lower in cannabis users prescribed olanzapine. The researchers note this may indicate that marijuana may diminish the effect of medications used to treat BD. For Effects of Marijuana on Mental Health: Bipolar Disorder 4 | P a g e example, as smoked marijuana is believed to induce hepatic CYP 1A2 enzyme activity, systemic effects of CYP 1A2 substrates, such as olanzapine, may be decreased in individuals who smoke marijuana.23

CUDs in those with BD are associated with a number of poor treatment outcomes, including increased disability and mixed episodes,24 increased manic, depressive, and psychotic symptoms,25, 26 low compliance, 25 and rapid cycling,27 One study noted a common effect of a psychiatric hospitalization for mania on the course of CUD. While most patients exhibit a period of abstinence in the period immediately after hospitalization, relapse to problematic marijuana use is rapid and common, suggesting a brief window of opportunity to address CUD aggressively in the period after hospitalization.27 An analysis of data from the European Mania in Bipolar Longitudinal Evaluation of Medication (EMBLEM) study explored the long-term consequences of continuation or cessation of marijuana use on remission, recovery, recurrence, and relapse in patients with BD. Findings indicated that negative effects of marijuana use on the course of BD disappear when patients stop using it; stopping marijuana use during an acute manic/mixed episode had similar clinical and functional outcomes at 2 years as never having used marijuana.28

Somebody tell me, Incase something does happen with Gregory. Is Tapper still on the PS?

If so, he is a viable contingency plan. IMO.

Tapper is no longer on the PS.

Taco and Armstrong would be next up

While prescription medications can be an effective treatment for people with Bipolar disorder. They are unfortunately, not a panacea. They require regular monitoring and usually adjustments from a psychiatrist.

It can also take years for a psychiatrist to find the proper medications and dosing for each individual and the outcomes vary widely from person to person.

Spoken like a man with some experience. I have two family members going through that so I can say you know what you're talking about. Yes, they tinker with certain cocktails and mixtures until they find the right one. Even the right one is subject to change over time. But from my experience it didn't take that long. Especially if the patient is very receptive to the idea. But then again, that's just my experience.
