"On Saturday night, he came up with an interesting idea. He reached out to Daunte Culpepper, his former quarterback with the Minnesota Vikings. The two former teammates discussed the possibility of finishing what they started in Minnesota on any NFL team interested."

That's about the crazy **** I've ever read.
He must be REALLY anxious to piss off New England.

People need to wake up and smell reality if they think the Patriots are the best thing to happen to Moss....

The Patriots need Moss more than Moss needs the Patriots...

Once Moss is gone, Wes Welker becomes just plain average... There defense is getting way too old, and without the scoring threat of Moss, the Pats will have to rely on their defense a hell of a lot more...

Moss played on a crappy team in Oakland... When he plays on any decent team, and ihe is content, that team explodes offensively. It didn't just happen with the Patriots, it happened with the Vikings...

I disagree - It WAS a problem when it really counted. Once Owens got hurt our offense struggled. Owens is pretty old - football wise. The odds for him staying healthy all season are pretty slim. We need someone else capable of producing for us if/when that happens.

Well, I disagree with you philosophy. Yes, Owen got injured and our offense suffered. Which offense wouldn't take a hit when it's #1 receiver goes down? We need to bring someone in via FA (reasonable) or via the draft. Get a RB with some speed and give us that extra dimension on offense. Draft two good CB to shore up the secondary and your sacks and turn overs will go up translating to more opportunities and points.

Getting Moss and Owens together in VR is just asking for trouble. Both have too much ego and unless things go PERFECTLY, VR will be a media circus. Just think of BP and Owen scenario!!!! It was miserable. It will rip the team apart. We are too close to a SB to put that in jeopardy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it the DEFENSE that let us down against the Giants? Didn't THEY allow a mediocre offense to march down the field in 37 seconds to score a TD right after our offense scored a TD in a beautifully long & time consuming drive just before halftime?

Shouldn't we have been involved in bringing in one of the several Pro-Bowl D-linemen who were traded to other teams this past week, instead of creating a furvor over drafting a RB or signing another big WR?

Maybe I've lost my senses when it comes to football, but I always felt it was a good idea to stop the other guys from scoring. Wouldn't Stroud, or Corey Williams, or even Shaun Rogers have looked good on that Cowboy's line in that playoff game? We need D-linemen who can both stop the rush & rush the passer. Each of these guys had more sacks than our entire starting 3 last year! They would have made a difference when the Giants were marching toward what I feel was the momentum changing TD. We needed a push up the middle and we didn't get it. Now, we are without our best NT, and the best FAs who could have replaced him are gone.

Let's stop worrying about freaking Randy Moss, and worry about a suspect secondary, and D-line. If we can't stop an offense from scoring on us with 42 seconds to go, it doesn't matter how many Moss's we have......or are we now of the mind set of "if you can't stop 'em, out score 'em"? If we are, we are sunk already.

Can you imagine Moss quitting on his route as Crayton did in the end? So we easily could have won this, even with this crappy drive before halftime.

Moss would be an upgrade, no doubts here. If you can sign him, do it, no matter what other positions have to be taken care of

I'm glad he's not going to be our #3 anymore but I do have to say that his leaving worries me about our depth. We could lose Jones as well, also not a huge loss, but it puts us VERY thin at the CB position. Even if we get 2 CB's that still gives a huge experience void in the secondary.

His broken leg - horsecollar - age had nothing to do with it
His finger injury - could happen to a rookie - age had nothing to do with it
His ankle injury - could happen to a rookie - age had nothing to do with it

His age, thus far, has not been a factor.... he is not aging like a regular player.... Led league last year in TD's - was ALL PRO this year.

Feel free to dream being 35 will have no bearing on future injuries. TO is in phenominal shape, but age is indeed a factor in both injuries and just plain decreased production. If age slowed down the great Jerry Rice ( he played till he was what, 40 or more? But he never played like the greatest WR of all time once he was in his late 30's IMO ) it will slow down TO. Whether it is injury related or otherwise, it WILL catch up soon to TO

It would be a risk, no question about it. But an exciting one I think. One where the potential benefits would outweigh the potential risks IMO. I guess we'll see if Jerry agrees with me or not in the next few days.

I seriously don't think that AGE will effect TO. Hes a freak of a nature. We've seen players who bust their butt play well into their late 30s. I think TO has some time ahead of him. He works harder then most even dream about.

I wouldn't be heartbroken at all if jerry spent the money to make sure TO was locked up for another 5 years.

As much as I think hes a self-centered ***. hes a damn good player and as behaved much better then I thought possible. I give him all the credit in the world and hope continues it as he finishes his career in dallas with a championship on along the way.

I see airplane troubles at DFW in Moss's future.
"Sorry Mr. Moss, but the darn things can't get off the ground today. It will take about 24 hours to get the new parts and make the repairs. Why don't you let us take you back to Valley Ranch where you can relax with Jerry and Stephen, and we'll have you out of here sometime tomorrow?"

Uh, if we get a WR in FA, we would be able to potentially use BOTH #1s on CBs. This would seem to be a better thing for our secondary than if we needed to use one of them on a WR.

If we could bring Moss in and still address the CB situation then that would be awesome. I do think the whole chemistry situation would need to be examined to make sure that these guys can get along if they don't get the number of touches they'd like.

But if it turned into an either/or situation then there is no doubt in my mind that we can't sacrifice addressing the secondary even it meant getting a Randy Moss in here. Once again...IMHO

Actually, the risks out weights the benefits immediately because Moss isn't going to sign for pennies looking at what Stallworth got in FA. If Moss gets $10 million per then what do you do with Owens? Do you think Owens will demand at least similar numbers to Moss??? Immediately, you have an unhappy Owens and trouble. Let say JJ does the crazy thing and sign both to $10 m per. That shoots our cap for next several l years, not to mention you are giving money to TWO WRs on the wrong side of 30.

Don't even think about uncapped year. The owners would be STUPID if they let that happen. Just look at MLB. It will kill NFL and it will truly stand for NOT FOR LONG.
