And I always thought he was saying "I'm BACK in BLACK". I thought it referenced the dead lead singer.

Tex
Well, Back in Black is what the song's name is. And the album as well. I'm pretty sure that's what just about any lyrics search will bear out as well. But hey, what do I, the rest of the internet and the guy who wrote the song and named the CD know?

What's with the Schmitt crap, Deon Anderson will be the starting full back for the Cowboys in 2008... I wouldn't hold my breath about Randy Moss either, he's using Dallas and Philly as leverage pretty much, I'd rather try and trade for Larry Fitzgerald.

Owen Schmitt is a bad bad man....he is a beast of a FB. We cannot go into the season with only 1 FB, especially one coming off a severe injury. Cricket may not be completely healthy come training camp or the start of the season. We just got rid of Hoyte. We need a second FB. Owen Schmitt would be an awesome draft pick.

Also, if we did actually sign Moss.........we could potentially draft 2 CBs in the first round.

If JJones restructures a few contracts (Roy Williams) over the next few days, it could be an indication that he is positioning himself to make a run at R. Moss.

I don't think he going to resturcture any contracts unless he feels he has a good chance at getting Moss.

Before we go crazy here. Offense was not our problem. Defense was. Moss and Owen would be a Madden fantasy but most likely a nightmare in reality. Unless we throw the ball 40+ per game and get the ball to each 5-10 times each. Neither would be happy. Unless we go 18-0, every loss and any unhappy Moss/Owen will rip up the locker room and Dallas becomes a media circus.

In reality, we don't need Moss. It's a nice thought. We need CB's, WR, RB and DT in the draft. If some 2ndary FA that fits the system like Hamlin last yr, by all mean. We don't need to overpay nor screw up our cap in the future.

Sometimes the smart thing is sit tight.

I think you've nailed it. Don't get me wrong because I have great respect for Moss and his ability. I am also concerned about team chemistry because I remember the days when they talked about the "dream backfield" with Dorsett and Walker that never seemed to pan out. If they could sit down with Owens, Moss, and Romo and really get everybody on the same page I might be willing to take a chance. I just wonder how much TO will still love his QB if more TDs go to the other 81.

But in the bigger scheme of things, even if they could get Moss to "join the family" with no sibling rivalries, I am still very concerned about our secondary. I think there is a bigger need there than in our offense. The New England game was winnable if we could have gotten their offense off the field. We lost the playoff game against the Giants when they figured out that all they had to do was throw to wherever Reeves was covering.

I'd love to have Moss here if it doesn't upset team chemistry, but our biggest need is defensive secondary IMHO.

Who is Mike Adams and WEEI 850? I never heard of either one.

Is any of this actually legit? Has anybody been able to verify this with another source, or is this guy the only one with the "scoop"?

I just have a hard time believing Moss is going to sign with us when he wants $8-$10 a year and we can barely keep the lights buring at VR.

Stephen Jones must be a freaking "salary cap witch doctor" to make $10 mill magically appear.

The 10Mill doesn't have to be for this year dude. If he signs a 6year contract with very low base pay in the first year but a big signing bonus, he could easily get hi 10million yet only cost 4-5 million against the cap this year.

Exactly, it can work. If Jerry wants Moss on the team then he will make it work, if he doesn't want him then he wont bother. Time will tell.

Even though I don't want him I'm starting to think that myself. Man this could have been a lot easier if the Browns would have just gone 5-11 this year and sucked.

I disagree - It WAS a problem when it really counted. Once Owens got hurt our offense struggled. Owens is pretty old - football wise. The odds for him staying healthy all season are pretty slim. We need someone else capable of producing for us if/when that happens.

Uh, if we get a WR in FA, we would be able to potentially use BOTH #1s on CBs. This would seem to be a better thing for our secondary than if we needed to use one of them on a WR.

It was joke people ! I thought for sure everybody knew the real lyrics. I was playing on Mcbabbs infamous black on black crime statements. Jeebus people seem to be as uptight about AcDc as they are about whether we should or should not sign Randy Moss. Relax people have a sense of humor. It's only rock and roll and football.
Meanwhile, does any one have book on translating humor to cyberspace I could borrow ?

well just to cool eveyone on this, ESPN is reporting Randy Moss has no visits scheduled with anyone.

"On Saturday night, he came up with an interesting idea. He reached out to Daunte Culpepper, his former quarterback with the Minnesota Vikings. The two former teammates discussed the possibility of finishing what they started in Minnesota on any NFL team interested."

That's about the crazy **** I've ever read.

His broken leg - horsecollar - age had nothing to do with it
His finger injury - could happen to a rookie - age had nothing to do with it
His ankle injury - could happen to a rookie - age had nothing to do with it

His age, thus far, has not been a factor.... he is not aging like a regular player.... Led league last year in TD's - was ALL PRO this year.

Age isn't effecting T.O. at all, he's still as fast, powerful and good as he ever was. He had a career year this year and missed two games, he's actually getting better.

  • Only in 2001 did TO have more TD's than this year (16 then, 15 with us - 2007)
  • His avg yards per catch 16.7 - career high - 2007

Jason Witten CAREER YEAR w/ TO (of course Romo and Garrett;)
  • 96 receptions
  • 1145 yards
  • 11.9 avg
  • 7 TD's
  • 6 receptions per game
  • Long of 53 yards
  • 71.6 yards per game
ALL of the above are PERSONAL BESTS/CAREER Best for Witten.

I don't know if he's getting better, but I do know he had a better QB last year than he has had in a while.

We have a #1 WR in TO. We don't need another one until TO leaves. I would trade out Glenn for Walker if the salaries are comparable and draft a WR in the 2nd or 3rd to push the young guys.
