Nick Eatmon said he has heard this floating around a couple of places on the internet during his show on the 'Cooler'. I think it comes from Barber being in the last year of his contract and the Bucs being hesitant about signing an aging QB. If this were to come down, imagie how imposing our defens ewill be with four quality corners. This may allow for Henry to play dome free safety.

about as imposing as it is with 3 quality corners...
actually, much less because even 4 quality corners can't cover WRs for 8-10 seconds if there is no passrush which might happen without Ellis.
Would be a ******** trade for us IMO. Draft picks in next year's draft would be more valuable to us IMO, we will probably need to find a QB,....or a WR and there are some STUDS that will be going in the top 10.

I would think this is nonsense, you can never have enough good corners but I would much rather have ellis. A pass rush is better than good coverage in my opinion.

I am hoping reeves or jones develops into a guy who can play the slot at a high level next year when glenn is gone. Adding barber is like adding another glenn, I know he is more talented but not really a smart decision from the organization.

Again I would rather have ellis.

One more thing if you are the cowboys why trade ellis to a team in your conference who you have to play and could possibly meet in the playoffs, you would be strengthening an already strong confrence opponent and weakening your own team. Kind of strange to me.

IMO, Ronde Barber is one of, if not the best pure coverage corner in the NFL. He excells in both man and zone coverages (is easily the best zone corner in football). I would do this in a heartbeat. Ellis is just out of place in our rotation.

Umm, what does an aging QB have to do with Barber?

Newman
Henry
Barber
Glenn
Williams
Coleman

That would EASILY be the best secondary the league has seen in years

Yes. Let's see, we are pretty thin pass rushing-wise but very deep at the corner.

Yeah. That makes a hell of a lot of sense.

If this is true (which I highly doubt) I would be in favor of this trade.

A link would be nice.
It's on dc.com. I listened to it. Eatman was saying, ordinarily he wouldn't bother w/rumors, but because he's hearing it over and over, he thought he'd put it out there for discussion.

That said, it doesn't really make sense for either team. TB has a very good CB w/a good cap number. Making this move would leave them in the secondary. And loaded at a position where they're already loaded.

Maybe it's only part of a three way trade. :)

How are we supposed to get into the top 10 to get one of those STUDS? Any draft picks we would get from a Ellis trade wouldn't come close to what we need. Besides, I believe that the Cowboy brass has proven the last couple of years they can find NFL players all weekend long in the draft.

I want Ellis gone like the next person, if Ellis doesn't want to cooperate, but I don't like this. I do like Barber, but I'm with everyone else.. We need DRAFT PICKS!!!

My only question is:: Is Nick Eaton hanging out with Rickey Williams and Quincy Carter again?

You got to be smoking alot of weed to think that the Bucs would trade Ronde Barber for Greg Ellis straight up.

That's all this is.... A RUMOR.

adding Barber would be nice... and if Hatcher is what the "PATRIOTS" think he is, then why not!!! But I would think if they are going to trade BARBER they would want draft pix... also if they cant geta contract done with him do the Cowboys expect to get a contract done or just renta player!!!
