RUMOR: Roy Williams for Roy Williams swap after June 1?

Why trade for Roy Williams, when come July/August we can get the great Matt Jones for nothing?!

Wait, I thought we were going to trade Williams and Ellis for Matt Jones, to make sure we got him and he never hit the open market.

It's funny... just a few years ago, I used to mockingly refer to Detroit's Roy Williams as "Fake Roy". Turns out, Fake Roy plays for Dallas.

This would be a bigger raping then the Herschel Walker Trade, j/k.

Roy Williams is not going anywhere.

Put me in the minority, but I would not even be suprised if he finished his career in Dallas.

I'll take that bet right now.

Jerry Jones would feel guilty for ripping the Lions off so badly.

I am sure Mr. Jones would get over it without Dr. Phil.....:)

I guess that would be just me, huh?

Hos.....I have to admit, I'm suprised you wouldn't make that trade. I'm sure your reasons are sound....care to elaborate?

Ellis, yes. Both no. Roy for Roy, no.

Hos - you seriously wouldn't trade our Roy for their Roy???

I am really shocked at that - seriously.

I'd do it in a NY minute.

IMO/FWIW...

I just don't share the prevailing winds theory about how good he is because I think many are over reacting. I do not think our Defense would improve if he were gone because we do not have a viable alternative. In fact I think we would regress.

I also expect him to have a great year this year and a lot of people to eat crow. That is just my opinion, I respect opposing views on it, but reserve the right to make up my own mind. If I'm wrong, well I guess that just means less crow will be served.

I certainly wouldn't give up him and a double digit (albeit one year only) sack producer for a #2 WR. Even if I do like that WR a lot and have a lot of hope invested in his coming here.

I look at it from a little different perspective. I don't particularly have a large amount of faith in our WR corps. It's a real concern I have. I know you can't go into the season worrying about injuries but if TO goes down.....

I also have less faith in our Roy than you do. I think he's somewhat of a headcase..I think he'll improve - he better . . I just think in general terms, a SS is a lot easier to replace than a quality WR. I'll gladly eat crow though......

I do respect your opinion though even if it is completely wrong.

A classic, classy debate between Sarge and Hos. That's how you do it folks. :D

I too am concerned with the WR Corps. A lot. I believe age and injuries are the 2 factors that sunk us last year more than any other reason. It's why I sunk so much effort into the hope we would acquire Roy Williams. Otherwise I'd have kept it to myself because I know how badly people over react to speculation, even if it is inside.

I agree a SS is easier to replace than a WR, but we didn't do anything to replace either and if we trade one for the other it still leaves a hole and I don't think it's smart to do that.

I've been completely wrong before as you well know. I ain't skeert of it.

:D
