I'm baffled that there are some still clinging to that fantasy that AP will be in Dallas.

I've always said "never say never"...but really, the odds are preposterously remote.

The fact that he showed up for OTA's yesterday has killed any chance of a trade. The only leverage he had was refusing to play for Minn and sitting out a season. At 30 years old after missing almost all of last season being away from football another year certainly wouldn't do his career any good. Minn would still have his rights and he would be facing the same situation again entering the 2016 season either play for them or don't play at all.

I wouldn't entirely rule that out, but I would rule out any further notion of a 1st round pick being involved.

Having Peterson at this point, through OTA's and training camp to get acclimated to a new team, new offense, new everything has a lot more value than trying to do something 'on the fly' midway through the season.

If Minnesota were to end up pulling the rigger on a trade then, I think they would end up looking pretty bad.

I don't see a midseason trade either.

DAL would still have to have 8m+ in cash and cap space and not having any time to learn the offense would be a big negative.

He was never going to sit out the season.

The leverage he has is to cause enough of a ruckus to become more trouble than he is worth.

Paying a guy 13m to bad mouth the front office to the young guys and post stupid Twitter posts is not good for a team coming off a PR mess and building a new stadium. They have a lot of seats and suites to sell and a soap opera is not good for business.

Naturally he wasn't going to sit out the season he's 30 years old. Another year off would affect his career stats and at some point inactivity and father time is going to diminish his skills. He'll never be able to cause more trouble than he's worth he's by far the best player the Vikings have and having invested another #1 pick on a young QB last year who showed promise as a rookie the Vikings need Peterson to take some pressure off Bridgewater. If they want sell seats and suites they need AP he's one of the top 5 players in the league most fans would pay to see.

"Its easy to talk about, its easy to sum it up when you just talk about leg day.. We sittin' in here, I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we in here talkin' about leg day. I mean listen, we talkin bout leg day.

Not upper body, not upper body, not upper body. We talkin bout leg day. Not upper body, not a, not a, not the upper body that I go out there and die for, and bust every upper body rep like it’s my last. Not upper body.

We talkin' bout leg day, man. I mean how silly is that? We talkin' bout leg day. I know I'm supposed to be there, I know I'm supposed to lead by example. I know that, and I'm not shovin' it aside, you know, like it don't mean anything.

I know its important, I do. I honestly do. But we talkin' bout leg day, man. What are we talkin' bout? Leg day? We talkin' bout leg day man. We talk... We talkin' bout leg day. We talkin' bout leg day. We ain't talkin' bout upper body, we talkin' bout leg day, man.

When you come into the arena, and you see me play, you see me play, don't you? You see me give everything I got, right? But we talkin' bout leg day right now. We talkin' bout leg day. (crowd laughs) Man look, I hear you, its funny to me too. I mean, its strange, its strange to me too. But we talkin' bout leg day man. We not even talkin' bout this upper body, th this actual upper body, wheere it matters. We talkin' bout leg day." - Darren McFadden
