Yeah, AP will be a Cowboy next season if
Randle sucks
McFadden slips on a banana peal
Jerry is caught at another strip club
Peterson has a fall off
Romo doesn't get killed
RB market looks bad
Stephen is drunk
ISIS controls Iraq

Jerry is caught at another strip club= Jerry was just doing his job as GM=scouting for new talent.

Reminds me of a Joseph Randle the way he runs but with more of a build and ability to run on the inside. Proven back. Hope they're at least talking.

I respectfully but completely disagree with this. Jerry Jones basically came out and offered Dallas' 1st rounder for next year, but that was to get Peterson now, not halfway through the season. And come week one, his $13 million is guaranteed so you would have to pay him more than what he had remaining on that deal in any renegotiation.

Once the season begins, the value and attractiveness of Adrian Peterson will plummet. By the trade deadline and, worse yet for 2016, he wouldn't be worth more than a 4th rounder.

If the Vikings are out of the hunt, and we're in the hunt, but our running game is struggling, I see Jerry pulling the trigger.

As for his contract there are all sorts of things you can work out.

I don't see how this deal can be done midseason. For starters, the majority of vets will have their deals guaranteed, so we could not release a Brandon Carr in order to make room. The smart play would be to just wait till next year instead of over reacting and trading for a player mid season, which rarely works.

I wouldn't entirely rule that out, but I would rule out any further notion of a 1st round pick being involved.

Having Peterson at this point, through OTA's and training camp to get acclimated to a new team, new offense, new everything has a lot more value than trying to do something 'on the fly' midway through the season.

If Minnesota were to end up pulling the rigger on a trade then, I think they would end up looking pretty bad.

If you think Brandon Carr plays at his current cap hit this year, you're fooling yourself.

These trades rarely happen, so to look any sort of precedence is mistaken from the get go.

Any position other than running back and I would agree with you.

I don't think he will play without cutting his pay, but i think to fit Peterson in, we'd need his salary gone

I don't get all this Peterson talk. You think Cowboys fans would no a little about Mike Zimmer,,,,he don't play....Peterson is a Viking, He is playing for the Vikings..they want him and its time to MOVE ON....Peterson just wants money....he lost a lot of money last year and now is trying to force an Extension or New Contract.... Time to stop pretending and get back to real life......McFaddin, Randle, Dunbar and Williams will be fighting for the position.....and that is great,,,,its all about competition.... MOVE ON people

I don't think so. If he take a cut down to 4 million, that puts us in pretty good shape to absorb the remainder of Peterson's contract this year around the trade deadline.

We have 12 million, and a good portion of that will go to Greg Hardy on a week to week basis, so cutting Carr from 8 mil to 4 mil, will not be much help.

I'm baffled that there are some still clinging to that fantasy that AP will be in Dallas.

I've always said "never say never"...but really, the odds are preposterously remote.

This offseason, you are correct. Next offseason Minn will part ways for a 4th or 5th or just plain cut him. Out of spite is not a good way to conduct business.

Very remote. Chalk the clinging up to the current regime. Until Randle or Williams show something what is there to be excited about? A seven year vet with the title of BUST...don't think so. Most fans would be at ease if they would have drafted a top five talent just got to understand our frustration.

This latest news, much demoralizing as it is, has forced me to move on.

This AP love is almost as bad as the Philly love for Mariotta. I stress the word almost.

It hasn't been settled yet. He had the suspension overturned but the League has not acted on the Judge's order while it is still being appealed. Peterson could lose up to 6 games- 4.5m of salary but it will more likely be 2 games or 1.5m.
