Running Backs - who is 2?

My blood and Kool aid both run Blue. I'm hoping for the return of Tony Pollard. Blue's not as big but offer's big play potential. I'll be rooting for him to take that next step and grab this opportunity.

We won't know everyone wants chubb or something, it would take for an injury for us to get him

We all want to see Blue, but the coaching staff hates him. I am guessing there's a reason.

Davis is just a straight-ahead banger, but he has done well when called upon. I'd feel OK subbing him in for a drive.

If they hated him he wouldn't be here.

TBH Davis looks more like Pollard too me,

I know you're seeing the speed with blue but when you look at the complete player Pollard became a more complete player when he lost a little speed but he can run sometimes between the tackles off tackle around the outside catch davis can do that I don't know Blue can do all that not in the NFL and I'm a Longhorn fan II hope the kid finds a nice role here he definitely could be your change of pace back but I think Davis is the guy you're thinking of watch how he runs he looks like Pollard..

I do not believe they will add anybody until after camp so whoever is on that shopping list and they think they need something yes he's an option... But the guy you gotta wonder nick Chubb even though he didn't look his self last year this will be his year two post injury and he may be a surprise he can be anywhere of a shell of himself that's who I'd want but you're right Clayton Adams He might want Connor back..

I prefer to roll with the young guys until you need one of those veterans and somebody's gonna be on that list in an emergency situation that you can just grab get them prepared that week and just throw them right in because that's how it works but remember Hunter can run the football short yardage he's bigger He can do it in spot duty I believe he could be the starter if Williams goes down at least the rest of that game...
Chubb worth a shot, still young and not a ton ton of miles, and as u said, two years removed from injury.

I thought Malik Davis did a fine job when called upon. He’d be my #2 at this time.

Maybe Blue can beat him out during the offseason, but he’s my backup as of now.
Agree. Davis is solid. Blue needs to show he’s matured and taking it serious. Love the speed he has and his pass catching ability so hopefully he’s turned a corner and is ready to contribute

We haven't cut down the 53 yet.
I don’t know that they hate him. I think they were disappointed in his maturity and dedication last year. Hopefully he’s grown some. His speed abd route tuning/ pass catching ability woukd be a nice weapon

1) Williams
2) Blue
3) Mafah

Mafah will play special teams and probably not get a ton of carries, but I think if Williams goes down you see Mafah move up to a 50/50 split with Blue. I don't think you want Blue carrying the ball 20 times in a game ... ever.

This team is loathe to give up on draft picks. That's why he's still here.

Having said that, Blue was a healthy scratch for over half his rookie season. That means he was not showing them enough in practice, in meeting rooms, or both. They could not trust him to carry out his assignments and therefore they could not play him. The talent is there for Blue. But if he doesn't get things together between his ears he's not guaranteed anything.

I liked what Davis did. Right now he is my #2.

Blue is not NFL material. Better cut him sooner than later. We dont need another feel good story (yes i am talking about the other rb bust we kept 3 years) that occupies a roster spot.

The only answer is we have no RB2 at the moment. If we want to take this team as a serious contender, we cannot go into the season with Davis, Blue and Maf as "next in line." Williams makes Dak's just much easier, and the same cannot be said if he goes down with any sort of injury

Javonte Williams turned out to be an excellent fa pickup. 1,200 yard back on a minimum contract. Clearly earned his extension. Good all around, power back.

After Williams there are questions:

-Blue was a healthy scratch for most of the season. Nobody fully knows why he couldn't make the active roster. In the season finale against the Giants, we saw his potential where he speed and explosiveness showed up. Has the Felix Jones/Tony Pollard skill set.

-Mailik Davis is the Rico Dowdle out of the group. Solid all around back that doesn't have any elite traits.

-Mafah-more similar to Williams as he is more of a power back that will get those dirty yards. Missed most of the season due to injury. He would be an ideal backup for Williams if he missed a significant amount of time.

Would make a ton of sense to add a low cost veteran to compete with Blue/Davis as the #2 back. Think Mafah is a PS candidate.
2 could have different meanings.

2 could be a compliment to Williams

OR

2 could be Williams replacement if injured.

If Blue could add a dynamic that’s somewhat similar to Gibbs in Det, or even a mix of him and like a Kyle Dunbar, I think it could go a long way in this offense behind Williams.

Obviously the new guys on defense are going to be key, but if Guyton, Blue and EZ hit their upside, this could be a fun season.

Ya'll do realize we have Israel Abanikanda on the roster, right?

Not sure why he jumped from the Jets to the Pack. But he was fairly highly regarded going into the draft. Has size and speed. Based on measurables alone, he qualifies as a legit backup.

Look forward to pre season to see what he has. Dark horse as our #2 RB. Also has return ability.

I always liked him more than Dowdle. I thought l had read somewhere that Davis got in the coaches dog house for some reason.
