You're probably right but from my understanding, it's exactly what's holding up a Raven-Lamar Jackson deal. He wants his entire deal guaranteed...

i can see it. probably will remain waiting for a while too lol. but who knows these days.

Sounds about right. He's around the 8th best QB.

I like it.

kinda wild. early on the front office didn't want to give him a 5th yr at 40 mil. then turned around and gave him 40 mil per, and now the going rate is 50. lol

Which is also why he has no deal

Deshaun Watson was effectively a free agent. He had teams in a bidding war over him. Same thing happened to Kirk Cousins everyone forgets, he got the entire contract fully guaranteed and it had no change on the market.

QBs don’t normally have that leverage those two did. No one will get that type of deal

I’m not sure fully guaranteed money is even that much of a need for QB’s.

history shows that teams will still pay massive contracts to franchise QB’s coming off major injuries or other off field baggage.

Watson, Vick, Dak, Peyton Manning, etc.

It would have to be a true, career ending injury for it to matter. Otherwise some team that is QB needy will pay a QB with some injury or baggage.

Yep. His pay is right in line with his production level. As many of us said it would be.

Some folks around here just don’t want to admit reality.

He has no leverage unless he demands a trade. He has his fifth rookie year and multiple franchise tags coming up. 3 years after Watson and no one else getting that level of guarantees will kill his position.

And at that point he’ll have lost so much money that it wouldn’t be worth waiting out. If he signed an extension today, 3 years from now he’d be up for a second one.

He has absolute leverage. He's a stud QB. He can hold out or, like you said, demand a trade. They're not going to call his bluff.

Watson was in the exact same position. He wasn't a free agent, just refused to play.

Not even close to the guaranteed money Watson got (230 million).

There's no way, as a successful QB, would I accept less guaranteed money than Watson.
Watson is younger but carry’s more baggage
I think the risk they took with Watson, with picks and money is one of the riskiest I’ve seen in a very long time

Excellent point ......both Watson and Cousins were top 10 QBs, that's rare. Most teams would never let their starting top10 QB situation get close to unresolvable. The Commanders tagged Cousins twice and ticked him off to the point he wanted Bruce Allen gone before he would sign a new deal. They chose Allen and frankly are still paying a price. As for Watson, he was happy to go to the Falcons with his old deal but the Browns decided they want him at ANY cost. The rest is history.......

Exactly.......my understanding, is that Raven's APY offer is the same as Watson's. He's crazy, they could easily toy with him three more years for half of their offer.

Hideous to say the least. No longer a top 10 quarterback heading into the 2022 season. Broncos are nuts!

They have been desperate for a QB since Manning retired. Wilson can't be judged on what he did in Seattle last year. He has better skill position players around him and a better OL in Denver.

Watson is close to a top 5 QB; better than Watson or Jackson.
Those saying otherwise are out to lunch
He would have two rings if he had been willing to audible out of the idiot call Carrol made. But he was still pretty young then and Carrol is pretty tough. Can understand him not wanting to audible out in that situation.

How can BAL’s management not extend Jackson? They changed their offensive philosophy to meet his skill set.

Prescott will soon be out of the top 10, as expected. Then back in it after the Joneses weave their magic.

and Dak falls down the salary scale, just as I predicted when he signed his deal. lol Dak contract is becoming avg. lol

Based on what Dak has delivered he is below average. He's a limited QB who isn't going to beat the better competition with his arm.
