He has absolute leverage. He's a stud QB. He can hold out or, like you said, demand a trade. They're not going to call his bluff.

Watson was in the exact same position. He wasn't a free agent, just refused to play.

I don’t agree with that. Watson was scorched earth, wouldn’t come back to Houston no matter what. When was the last time a top 10 (or MVP or whatever accolade you want to say) QB wanted out of their team other than Watson? Cousins played out his franchises before he hit the market. Rodgers said he wanted a trade and they resolved it without going max guarantees. Murray just signed after Watson and after seeming disgruntled, didn’t get close to max guarantees.

I don’t see Lamar going full Watson, that can only be bad for his reputation. And thus, he won’t get close to that deal. And even if he did, does anyone see him as the QB Watson is? I don’t believe he’d be viewed as a franchise saver in free agency or trades.

Oh yeah Wilson again, another QB who was viewed as a franchise save yet who’s calming down the market with the guarantees.

If he continues to demand it, Ravens position will be “… or what?” Sitting out has massive fines now, not like previous years.

Dak haters better get ready because Dak will probably get an extension this offseason as well.:omg:
He wont no way but this year ,maybe, depends on what he does THIS season but truthfully RW paying his before he plays snap is not a great move,.,.why not let him earn it.. another regular GM making a premature risky move.. the dak deal is a very good one now..still LJ left to reset market :))

Why? He finished top ten in most statistical categories last season.
because he didn't finish top 3 go by pay vs production and rank, correct? thats why dak was criticized or WAS....his pay ios now on par with his rankings and stats...

Not even close to the guaranteed money Watson got (230 million).

There's no way, as a successful QB, would I accept less guaranteed money than Watson.

I think Wilson being 7 years older than Watson impacted the amount of guaranteed money along with the Browns just being dumb.

Seriously how is a top 10 quarterback the problem? I will admit he was disappointing against good defenses last season and made me cry after the 49ers fiasco.
He's a problem because of exactly what you just said. He disappoints against good defenses and he's too inconsistent.

Do you trust Dak Prescott to play well 4 games in a row (like we'd need if we're a Wild Card team) against playoff caliber defenses?

Yeah I hear the talking heads running around like Denver stole Russ. The guy is still 34 years old, 5 ‘10 inches in height, and you could argue he is the 4th best quarterback in the division. 165 million guaranteed plus 42 million annually is crazy.

I don’t trust him. I am a sucker. I will give him this season. I believe our defense is elite. All Dak has to do is drive the bus. I think he can be a better Jimmy G.

We'll see, but I'd argue Lamar has a better resume than Watson. And if Watson can get what he did with everything that was hanging over his head, you would think that Lamar will get what he wants.

Lamar is not going to be worried about fines when he know he's getting a massive payday regardless & Baltimore is not going to want to get into an elongated dispute with the face of their franchise. I fully expect his contract to break records on guaranteed money.

You're probably right but from my understanding, it's exactly what's holding up a Raven-Lamar Jackson deal. He wants his entire deal guaranteed...

He wants it, but this deal makes is less and less likely he will not get it.... Both Kyler Murry and Russell Wilson have signed since Watson's deal, and neither got the fully guaranteed deal.

Ravens are one the best-run franchise in the league. If he doesn't before the season starts, this could get ugly.
