Patrick Peterson - DB - Player Fox Sports' Adam Caplan doesn't believe the Broncos will consider LSU CB Patrick Peterson with the No. 2 overall pick.
Peterson was once viewed as a potential target of the Broncos, but all signs are now pointing toward Denver taking Alabama DT Marcell Dareus. Dallas would likely give Peterson a long hard look at No. 9, but he's unlikely to fall past San Francisco at No. 7.

honestly i think the all important pick for PP to get to 6 is Buffalo.

They could take a qb, PP or Von Miller. If we want PP to slide9and i'm not of that persuasion) if the Bills take a qb then he'll get to six.

If the Bills take Von Miller i can then see the cards taking PP at 5.

I agree with you and always have said this.

I read somewhere though that chan gailey really likes von miller. If you rememer, one of their pass rushers they drafted at linebacker i think, gailey isnt fond of. :)

I see Cards taking a QB, they need one badly.

Whisenhunt knows that he has to get an impact player at QB to keep his job or else. :starspin

boy he's really going out on a limb saying we would give him a hard look at #9

I guess he doesn't know what our plan is:shush:

The QB crop this year is as lousy as it has been in a long time. Every single one has huge warts. I frankly see only one going in the top 8. Bowers is really questionable with his knee if reports are anywhere near accurate about him possibly needing microfracture. So the chances that Peterson slips to 6 is very slim. ESPECIALLY if he keeps looking as clean as he has been. Now it is possible that Quinn could rise.

Both the Bills and Cards should be after one of the QB's and Von Miller.

But If Von, Cam, and Gabbert all go top 4 then we might be in some trouble w/ the Cardinals on the clock.

I agree w you completely..

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if we ultimately traded with AZ

There's a lot of talk about Peterson falling to #6 and we'll move up, but I also wonder why we should assume that CLE would be so willing to move down?

Fairley, Bowers, Quinn, Julio Jones all make some sense for them and one or two will be there at 9.

So its smart drafting to get a 3rd rounder pick and change if you will end up w/ one of your targets anyway.

I would agree that it makes sense for Cleveland as players that will fit their needs will be there and will come cheaper, but I also believe that we've propped them up as a trade partner without tangible evidence to suggest they are fully on board with it.

For instance, if Fairley is their guy, the Titans could very well snatch him before. Maybe they want Julio and Washington will trade a pick to jump in front of them.

Trust me, love the idea of PP wearing the star, but that's all predicated on the idea that Cleveland would take our pick in a trade scenario or that a better offer isn't on the table.

so what if Carolina takes Dareous - there HC is Riveria a D lineman

Denver will be all ove PP - there coach is Fox D coach

Smart drafting for them, for us probably not so much.

CB isnt one of the key issues on this team. OL play and generating more pass rush is. Peterson doesnt really do much for either of those issues.

With Newman declining and turning 33, Scandrick being in a contract year and probably not being re-signed, and Jenkins coming off of a HORRIFIC season (we have no idea if he'll rebound), I'd say CB is a pretty hefty need now AND in the future.

We can win with Newman, Jenkins and Scandrick. We cant win with continued awful OL play and no pass rush.
