RW: Dallas likely give Peterson a long hard look at # 9, unlikely to fall past 49ers

I just think "he's not Deion" is a cop out.

What he is, is the best CB prospect in years. A difference maker. A rain maker.

The whole "he's not Deion" thing is why I wouldnt pick him with the pick we have.

Nor do I think he's the best CB prospect in years.

He has an enormous amount of athletic talent, but he isnt a sure thing. I still think he neds up at FS before his first contract runs out.

I actually edited my earlier post but I will respond to this. I don't believe he is the best CB prospect in years. He is a Safety IMO. However, even if he were the best CB prospect in years, how does that help us protect the most important player on our team? Do you believe that we have any chance of winning a championship if we can not protect Romo?
I believe we allowed more points than we scored last year and have to fix that first. On the Defense the most suspect area is the DBs with both safeties Free Agents and Newman a potential cap hit.

Our Offense on the other hand still nearly scored 400 points with backup QBs and this OL that people here seem to think was the worst ever. A remarkable feat.

There are not such things a sure things.

There is no Deion, but he is the closest to it since Deion. He is bigger than Deion and incredibly fast with top notch ball skills and is as dangerous as anyone in the country once he has the football. That should be obvious to anyone, but apparently some are blind.

its called "restructure" or "release and then re-sign"
I've seen nothing to indicate that is the plan. I hope it is. But if it isn't don't get all shocked.

I'm sure Hos probably addressed this before (possibly in this thread) but how serious is the idea of jumping up to #6 if PP is there?

50% possibility, 90%?

If he is there, 90% or better.

who's to say Newman would even agree to re-signing at a lower rate? or re-negotiating his current deal once this CBA mess is figured out

I guarantee you Denver is not taking Peterson over DL.

Why not? If Peterson is the best talent in the draft and the best CB in 20 years, better than Revis and everyone else, why wouldn't they?

Because their DL is so thin you can see through it.

ok Denver takes Dareous
Carolina takes PP

but I still say he goes to Denver

Wes Agrees with me

1. Carolina Panthers: Marcell Dareus, DL, Alabama
At this stage I’m getting the vibe that the pick will either be Dareus or Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert. However, with too much downside to Gabbert’s game, I see them going with the safer prospect in Dareus.

2. Denver Broncos: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
Peterson is a big-time talent and in my view one of the best prospects in the entire draft. He possesses a lot of upside and will be able to start in the Denver secondary early in his NFL career

So John Fox is going to reach for need, even for a 4-12 that's thin everywhere, rather than taking a superior player? I have more respect for Fox than that, but whatever gets us Peterson, I guess.

Carolina will be taking Cam Newton as I have been saying for a month and a half.

I guess I don't see Marcel Dareus as a reach.

Denver only had 23 sacks, fewest in the NFL. They are switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 so they need another D-lineman in the worst way.

I have a Patrick Peterson agenda. Denver doesn't. The fact remains that CB has never been taken higher than #3 in the History of the Draft.

I'm sorry that my agenda once again insults you CL. It seems I can't avoid that lately. Certainly never my intent.

Lombardi is very very confident the Bengals are taking a QB

So it might go

Cam
Dareus
Von Miller
Gabbert
Cardinals - Fuuuuuuuu

I don't see Riveria taking Cam - I see him PP whos Carolinas starting CB's
or Dareuos

I am counting Washington taking swing at Cam - bet he falls out the top ten

I already told you, squat and watch.

I believe I will be partaking of my louge chair that evening

have it all kicked back

and when PP is pick by Carolina or Denver

and when Cam and Miller fall out the top ten I will be smiling to my self

Oh, I think they could take Dareus, too, but because Dareus is a better prospect, not because DL is more of a need for them. No 4-12 team with a brain in its head drafts for need, because they have needs everywhere and they know it's going to take much more than one first round pick to right themselves anyway.

And that's funny about my being insulted, because you're the one who likes to say how "in your face" you are, yet you're the one who seems insulted when people don't agree with you. For the record, I don't take your PP love personally one bit.

Cardinals need pass rushing help in the worst way and Quinn just knocked his Pro Day out of the park. I think he's their pick if the first 4 fall that way.
