So we knew before free agency started that the Cowboys weren't going to be spending big money early in free agency, but you're still upset that we haven't spent big money early in free agency?

Smart teams don't give away their strategy in the media. I was holding out hope that they were bluffing or would come to their senses and spend some of the 10s of millions in cap space we have available. I know the idea of making the team better while Romo is still here is crazy, but I'm just wacky like that I guess.

That isn't the type of strategy they need to keep secret.

That isn't the point at all. It's not what they said or didn't say that I care about. It's what they haven't done that has me worried. It was never the amount spent that got the team in trouble. It was a decade of poor drafts and signing players, mainly home-grown ones, that didn't live up to their second and third contracts that left us short.

We're no different from any other team in that regard.

So there's no way to make the team better after March 14?

Is that what I said?

I don't think sitting out early FA is a good strategy. We have gotten carried away with bargain hunting at the expense of missing on some very solid players.

The Draft isn't a secret set aside for teams that don't spend money. It is open to all teams and we have the 27th pick, not exactly the cat bird's seat.

Up until about 3 , maybe 4 days before DM got signed, I still felt like we were going to match. Whatever he got offered to him. Or that he would decide it wasn't worth it to go to Jacksonville , and that we had a decent shot to keep him......

The eagles of all teams came out of no-where in a matter of a dew days. And then all of a sudden we sign Mcfadden. Which I am slowly coming around too. It was a good pick up. We aren't paying him much for a look-see.

I wasnt expecting to go crazy in FA, but I was hoping for "something" that would give us an honest boost going into next season which I think should be approached as a Super Bowl season. One, we were just as good as any other team last year. Seattle NE GB Colts.... and two, Romos window is closing....

Thats why I think the FO, and JJ is waiting for that AP deal......Its coming. I can feel it. Give it a few months.....:)

or maybe not......:(

If you look at all of the free agent signings from last week, are there any deals that you think the Cowboys should have out bid? I can't think of a single one. Sure there are players I would have liked, even our players I would have liked to keep, but the money being thrown around has been outrageous.

I think Dallas is just using Free Agency to sign role players.

I'd bet in the next week or so we start picking apart these guys that didn't get a deal in the first week of free agency.

It looks like our plan is to spend money on the OL, hopefully DL, QB, and WR.

The rest we will look for role players in FA or the draft.

I certainly would have paid more than the skins did for Knighton and I would have tendered Moore instead of claiming White. This is the second time they have tossed Moore away after playing decently. I just don't get it.

I'm not sure why everyone has this extreme love for Moore. Was he a solid 3rd or 4th corner last year for what we needed, yes. Can he be replaced, yes.

I like this pickup. Young guy that has skill and will lower his shoulder to tackle instead of biting at ankles. Hope it works out for everyone.

So, Tony making 27.5 million this year isn't???

Has nothing to do with it. Just because they can restructure Romo's contact doesn't mean they should just to sign other players to bad contacts.

These replies are getting old for every move we make.

You do realize they have to get bodies in here for camp and to fill out the bottom of the roster, right?

But that's right, every move in the offseason needs to be the biggest splash ever!!

I think it's because people see these moves happening near the beginning of free agency while other teams are signing name-players for millions in signing bonuses... many probably assume that players like this can easily be had right before camp. Not sure if I agree or disagree, just trying to understand the logic for the hate.

Looks fantastic on the highlights. Of course this does not show his weaknesses. He looks fluid and he's definitely a good tackler.

Most of the Saints fans agree that his coverage on the outside falls short BUT his play in the nickel packages is quite good. I'm of the opinion that this is probably what Dallas envisions as his primary role. I think he'll likely be our future replacement for Sterling Moore. He's also very young and offers hope of further development.
