White was thrown to the wolves prematurely when NO was desperate for help during Rob Ryan's tenure.
If he's given a chance to develop and absorb the system sufficiently, he just might be a pleasant surprise.
It's not like the organization will be overpaying and taking an inordinately high risk with this guy. Welcome.

I'm trying to find it, but I saw a tweet that 2 other NFL teams were going for White. I'm glad they picked him up.

Exactly what I read. CB is a position that really needs up to 3 years to develop. Think Orlando Scandrick. Some guys can come in and be great (Richard Sherman, Patrick Peterson), but those are not normal guys.

Some of you are preposterously over reacting to these little moves.
The downside is almost non-existant, at worst, marginal. There's nearly 1/2 a year before the first game.

I would leave this guy at Safety with most of his snaps coming in the Nickel. I do like Church and think Wilcox will improve, but I think we dodged a bullet last year when we went with the backups we had at S but both starters stayed completely healthy.

If this guy is playing major snaps next year we are in HUGE trouble.
