Who ever said there's a question at safety? Perhaps the front office is happy with who's back there already.

We can't stock every position with a top 3 rd. Draft pick.

We have to fill some positions with guys who cost less and compliment the others.

Dallas has never considered their safeties as primary roster guys.

Even Woody was a converted LBer from Arizona.

So I think you expect too much there.

I doubt that Heath's spot is in jeopardy. We brought McCray back as a special teams guy, but he's not a better safety than Heath. I see us keeping 10 DBs, whether it's six corners and four safeties or five corners and five safeties likely depends on if either Jones or White ends up at safety.

My 10: Scandrick, Carr, Jones, Claiborne, Patmon, White, Church, Wilcox, Heath and McCray. If we don't decide to keep Carr because of financial concerns plus the play of Claiborne and Jones, then we might go with nine unless one of the young players steps up. That to me is also the only way Heath could end up getting cut, but McCray would probably be the first to go.

Right now I have us keeping 9. And agree, McCray 1st one to go. My list is the same as yours, except I have us keeping S Keelan Johnson over McCray. And Mo starting out on PUP.
Johnson has some ST's capability, and the coaches liked him signing him in the off season. I read that somewhere from a local writer, but can't remember who it was.
Again, this was before FA and draft.

An UDFA I read that looked decent in the rookie camp, a CB, Wilson. Which means nothing, but I bet people will say he is this years Patmon if he shows anything at all.

It'll be interesting. There are players every year that surprise and make the team and safety is a spot where the competition is definitely easier to beat out on this roster because we're not as deep there. I definitely don't consider either Heath or McCray players whose spots can't be lost.

It would be great if the NFL adds 2 roster spots, and those 2 players can play only on ST's. Can't even be used as emergency players at other positions. Only ST's.
Players like Heath and McCray could be kept, but not be a liability at S for us.

But I can see the Cheatriots having players switching jersey's on the sideline in a huddle....:muttley:

If teams are going to pay the extra 2 players anyway, then just bump the 53 limit to 55 and be done with it or make the PS protected.
