Teams are now free to make him an offer and the Saints can decide to match or let him go for 2 first round picks

The debate begins now. Is he a TE or WR? Should be interesting to watch.

Somebody will end up with a really good TE . . . too bad it won't be us.

Good chance for someone in that division to make a nice offer and put the Saints right back in cap trouble. Would be perfect for the Panthers but Richardson is a tight old geezer.

Yeah, the Saints. No one is giving them two firsts and a huge contract for a TE.

I'm surprised the Saints didn't just pay him though. They seem to play hard ball with a lot of guys over their contracts, but I guess it's easier to do that when you've had some success.

A number of teams picking at the end of the first should be interested. Green Bay, New England and Seattle shoud all be willing to kick the tires.

Doubt Seattle because he got in a fight in the pregame warm-up during the playoffs. NE or GB honestly are 2 teams that could pay that bounty (no pun intended) to New Orleans and they'd be juggernauts offensively.

Not even a debate. If he wants to use his pro bowls as a bargaining chip, then he went as a TEnot WR. cant have it both ways

I read that they used the Franchise Tag, but didn't specify a position. It will up the League to determine whether he is a WR or TE. I don't see they can say WR. He is a TE.

They are picking at the bottom of the draft because they don't make dumb moves like giving up 2 1sts for a player.

Yeah ** said on pft that teams don't tag the player by the position. The nfl council decides what they are to be tagged as then graham can take it to arbitration if he wants. But its not the team he will be fighting rather the nfl council

no one is giving up 2 #1's for anyone but a QB. Does not matter how great they are at their position.

I guess I was using out-dated info from last night. It'll be interesting to see if a team waits until after the draft to sign Graham and give the 2 first rounders.

I like our TE's. Witten is a great catch and fall TE, he cant run anymore very much, but hes still got hands. Escobar showed me flashes of what could be and if he hits that mark, he will be a good one for a long time, seems like he could become a perfect Witten replacement next year or the year after. I think we can scratch TE's from FA and first three rounds of the draft. If you take a flyer on potential in later rounds I would not mind that.

I think you may be undervaluing the value teams place in 1st round picks. Maybe if it was just one first round pick, but to mortgage two years of 1st rounders for the privilege of paying a TE the richest deal in history at the position (assuming he doesn't insist on one of the richest deals in history at the WR position) will not be palatable to any sensible franchise. Especially when this is actually a pretty good TE class.

I thought that they used the TE designation, but that Graham is going to take it to arbitration because he is claiming to be a WR.
