nice try. He is the 23rd best WR. Romo is top 12 of the QBs. Jerry made the big mistake of giving Austin the big contract after 2 seasons. I am saying Dez is nothing special. He is a #1 WR in the NFL. I said franchise him for a season before wasting the cash on him after 2 nice seasons. I can feel it in my bones that you are a Dez homer and would rather he get cred than the Cowboys win.

He isn't the 23rd best WR. He is 23rd rated receiver in that link you put up. That ranking as stated in the article was mostly because of his blocking and not because of his receiving. I can tell you that I am not a Dez homer, but it can't be denied that he has become a pretty good receiver.

Beyond the fact that being a "Dez Homer" makes absolutely no sense, I don't think you even read the link you posted beyond the ranking.

the article was pretty short so I can manage reading it. And you want to blame his blocking, which apparently you don't seem to feel is important by the way. please try to look at the stats that were discussed. Dez is no where near top 2 or 3 receivers that has been brought up on CZ a few times over the last few months. He had the 13th best total for receiving yards and 3rd best for touchdown receptions. I know he has talent and has produced but I am skeptical of his tantrems and his fumbles. We got the nice rookie deal with him and also had a punt return guy. Now he is our WR only and if we sign him quickly and for the long term Dallas will continue to dig it's grave.

Even DeMarco Murray rates higher and he gets no love from the media and fans. Romo 12th Murray 8th and Bryant 22. Witten still ranks 3rd. Smith was 5th and free 18th Bernadeau was 19th Frederick 7th and Leary 42. So thankfully Dez out ranked Leary plus the others who were not mentioned.

Austin would not be the #1 WR on any good offensive team; probably at best he is around 15-20 in the NFL. Between his hamstrings and his cost he needs to go.
