IF they want to send us a 2 then we are in business.

They have no players that are backups that are any good we could use. It would be a huge lose lose situation for Dallas.

we would essentially be improving the saints running game while weakening our roster? That makes no sense unless they gave up a premium draft pick like a 1 or 2
I would take a 3rd round pick for Leary. That's bound to help make up for the 2ND rd pick we will inevitably blow next year.

I don't think there is a member on this board that wouldn't take a third for him.

Leary's a one-year rental, so they just can't expect much.

(I love that misspelling of "bona fide", by the way. "A bonified starter" sounds vaguely dirty: he may make things uncomfortable in the locker room)

Anyone that trades a 2 or 3 would probably extend Leary or at least tag him next year...that gives them at least 2 years

Midas whale send us the pick than wait until next year on a rookie

If anyone in this league felt Leary was tag worthy, they'd have jumped at him when he was RFA

Please don't do this. Unless it's for Jordan, I don't want anything the Saints have to offer.

Getting Cameron Jordan for Leary would be heavenly. However, I don't think Saints are offering that. I'm thinking it would be for the other McCown (Luke).
Have you looked at his career stats. Luke McCown has been horrible in the NFL.

Circumstances change quickly and tagging him would only be an option if they couldn't extend him after this year

If we are going to trade Leary, I would only do it for defensive help or Mike Glennon. The difference between any other back up QB that has been discussed (McCown bros, Petty, ect..) and Jimmy Clausen is negligible and we wouldn't have to give anything up for him.

I'm not saying I would do that, its more likely that than Cameron Jordan. I'm personally of the opinion Dallas shouldn't trade Leary unless they are getting a starting caliber DE or MLB.
