Sal Pal Antonio made me sit down

Are there any non former player Cowboys homers in the media? I can't think of one. I think Trey Wingo is a fan, not sure. He doesn't show it if he is.

Yes sir Trent is a lifelong Cowboy fan but he does keep it low key. It's funny because other hosts have no problem saying they are fans of other teams. The morning girl on the NFL Network always talks about "her Giants" and the new girl on First Take is a Giants fan as is Linda Cohn. Andrew Siciliano of the NFL Network is a Commanders fan and Chris McKendry is an Eagles fan.

I just noticed the northeast slant to all three of these. Geez does any kid from Kansas State EVER get hired by ESPN or the NFL Network?

In Philly today they had a fantasy fest, even though there wasn't much fantasy talk at all. Someone asked him if he thinks the Eagles will make the SB and he said ofcourse, name 5 better teams? I immediately raise my hand and they call me up. I ring off 3 within 1 second and they immediately take my mic and sit me down. If anyone can tell me how to post a vid from my iPhone I'll post it. Everyone says my cities crazy, I just think it's soft. They couldn't handle truth

ok, besides Dallas, who else? I am thinking you said Seattle and GB......however, Detroit and Minnesota cannot be discounted.

He's such a homer and i never liked that he is allowed to front as a reporter.

Definitely better:

Dallas
GB
Seattle
Steelers
Patriots
Broncos
Ravens

Might be better:

Detroit
Atlanta
New Orleans
NYG

don't forget about Minnesota....Bridgewater has a year under his belt, Peterson will be back, their ST is pretty good (though Walsh is struggling), and that defense should be pretty good..........on top of all of this, they have a pretty good coaching staff.

You buddy are an Eagle's fan. See right thru you bro. Take your Eagle-jock-riding, less than half of a playbook claimin fan boy *** outta here with that.

Oh gtfoh with that. Just because someone doesn't agree with you and says the Eagles will be good, he's an Eagles fan?

Let there be some actual analysis, not just "EAGLES SUCK"

For the Sheagles to be good this year they must be very lucky health wise.

History is just not on their side.

Just to be fair, I believe he was asking name 5 teams better that would keep them from getting to the SB, so that would imply he was referring to NFC teams. With that said your first three are the obvious ones, then you have Det., Atl. Minn, N.O. ( NYG have too many injuries and holes, plus I think we may be seeing the decline of Eli. ), which are arguably better but not definitive. So I guess the argument could be made that they are a top 5 team or the argument could be they're a top 5-10 team as well.

He's always been Chip'd up. He'll be unbearable on radio this week during his segment.

That being said, and yes it's preseason, anyone who hasn't been impressed with the Eagles this preseason is just being a Cowboys homer.

We better be ready for a drag out brawl in this division. Philly isn't winning 6 or 7 games like some people around here want to think.

I bet 90% of this board thinks Philly wins >6-7 games.

They won 10 last year and had the same 4-2 division record.

The last two seasons we lost both games to the Eagles at AT&T and beat them both games in Philly. We need to try to fix that this year and get our home field advantage back. LeSean McCoy had big games (27-131, 25-159) in both of our losses, so hopefully we'll have more luck stopping Murray. What's interesting is in our two wins in Philly, we held McCoy to 18-55 and 16-64. Also, three of our last four victories against the Eagles we have scored 38 points. The other win we held them to only 3 points.

And Tony was out in one of those games.

There's an analogy I like to use for the Eagles under Chip. I'm a big MMA and boxing fan, and oftentimes there will be fighters coming up through the ranks who I refer to as "can crushers". These are the guys who are very good at beating the guys that they're supposed to beat, and they usually do it in impressive fashion. Put them in the ring with a guy that's not quite on their level, and you're sure to see a dominant KO/TKO/submission win, probably in the 1st or 2nd round. Put them in the ring with a legit, top 5 contender, and they fold. These "can crushers" arent necessarily bad fighters. In fact, it's quite the opposite, however they'll never be champ and usually end up a fringe top ten fighter who makes a career out of being a gate-keeper. Guys who are for real beat them.

If there was ever an NFL version of a "can crusher", it's Chip's Eagles. They'll squash bad teams. But when a "real" team drags them into deep waters, they'll drown more times than not.

Dead On!

This is what they've done for the last two years. Look back at last year what they did against the elite defenses. Totally shut down. Why? Because elite defenses play man coverage, as opposed to zone. Chips offense is geared towards zone defenses. When they man up, their WR's are pedestrian and can't get open.

Plus, with Bradford and Sanchez back there, there is no fear of the QB taking off. Now if he had a mobile QB, I'd be scared. But he doesn't, so I'm not.

Last preseason Eagles scored in the 4 games:

28 points
35 points
31 points
37 points

The teams playing them are playing vanilla defense. The Eagles may be good this year but the preseason is not an indicator.

It has been proven. It's pretty damn easy to pick up on his shtick.

Before I forget, EAGLES SUCK! EAGLES SUCK! EAGLES SUCK! ... and that's whether homey agrees with me or not.

You got it. And it's not like the Eagles are an outright bad team or anything, they're just not the real deal like some believe. I really think Chip's best chance to win was that 1st season. That was his opportunity to strike while the iron was hot, and he just couldn't do it. They faded and got bounced (in their own house) in the wildcard round. And I truly believe that will be their identity.

I mentioned in a previous post (and I will again here)- 2 of the reasons Chip was successful in college was the fact that he could dress a billion players and they played lots of home games. Neither of those things exist for him in the pros.

His team's will always fold late in the season in the NFL.
