The subtraction of his 20m salary will be a much bigger plus than the potential 9m in dead money.
Romo's contract is accounted for either way.
Him being gone will hurt 10x more than any cap hit.
So how much cap space do we have right now?
11.8m and if we restructure TSmith and TCrawford as expected it will be 24m.
About 14.5 million under as of right now without any restructuring . Smith and Crawford puts us 26 million under. That's some serious space !
Those number include the $11M that Hardy provided coming off the books too? I figured we would be better than that. The $11.8M I figured would *just* be Hardy coming off the books.
We have a boatload of UFA.

There is no 'coming off the books' per se. Hardy was never under contract for 2016 and had no dead money from 2015.
DAL wants to go with more short deals that lessen the risk but keeps the team in constant turnover.
We have been winning the comp pick game lately and Hardy could net a 3rd pick in 2017 if we don't spend big. Personally I would forget about comp picks this year, re-sign Haardy and add a few top FAs like Weddle and LMiller.
Hardy did come off the books. He was on the books last year, when he hit FA, he came off the books. This is what I mean by we got $11M spendable back with him off the books. (if the spent monies was $133M and Hardy becomes a free agent, we now $122M spent)
You are talking in circles but Hardy was never on the books for 2016. He had a one year deal, period.
What part of we were paying him $11M (minus suspension monies) are you not understanding? I'm not talking in circles, I'm stating a fact. He came off our books. He wasn't free last year.
You just don't understand contracts I guess.
If they cut Carr they save 9.1m off the books this year.
He was scheduled to count 13.8m and now counts 4.7m.
That would take us from 24m under to 33m under the cap.
Hardy never counted 1 dollar against the 2016 cap, so nothing comes off the books. The 2015 book was already closed when they carried over 3.6m weeks ago.
The cap never closes. We had a cap last year and we still have a cap this year. The only thing that changes is the amount on the cap, and the cap limit itself.
Stop digging
