Dallas is still 10m under after signing 4 UFAs and re-signing 5 FAs

They are looking to get 4 comp picks next year- a 4th, 5th, 5th and 6th

They will need 1.8m to sign their draft picks based on the Rule of 51

Cap Space added if needed
Trade Romo- 5m
Release/trade Romo post June 1st- 14m
Extend Witten- 4m
Restructure Dez-8m
Restructure TCrawford- 5m

Enough facts.....now some opinions

just for comparisons sake if they were to do all 4 of those simple moves they would be 41m under the cap

they won't do this and there isn't anyone to spend it on, even with trades according to the experts but anyone that thinks we can't keep Romo at full cost isn't paying attention........and despite waldo's spreadsheets we did not have to go so cheap

we chose comp picks and value FAs as the primary plan, not some fall back due to lack of funds

I'd pass on extending/restructuring guys like Witten and Crawford. That's how we got in this mess in the first place.
That just isn't true but don't make this all about TCrawford

Huge amounts of cap space has always been readily available

We have 40m in space and have finished our Xmas shopping or we have a bak up QB with a 25m cap hit......that is not a cap problem in any universe

Dallas typically does restructures a few days prior to signing a new player, so its doubtful they will need to do any restructures at all.

it would not be a good idea to restructure dez or witten or Crawford get your money from tony and doug free

dez contract ends after 2019, there is almost 0 chance that we cut dez before the end of the contract except in the case of catastrophic injury.
so it really does not matter.
furthermore, it does not even appear we need the space.
even if we trade for richardson, we have the cap space for richardson (8M) and draft picks (~2M) after rule of 51.

in 2018, there will be lots of cap space.

How much space will we need to save for all the picks we get for Romo?

You only restructure contracts and extend over the hill veterans if you are desperate for cap space. Which they already did this year.

And FYI........all the quality FA's are history. So what is your point exactly?

Romo will automatically release $5M
or if after June 1, then a lot more like $14M for 2017.

My point is that guys like you that know nothing about contracts always pop off about the 'salary cap' from an uneducated perspective and I was just shining some light on the subject

With 3 pen-strokes DAL is 27 under the cap without even touching Romo........so all this kvetching about having no money to sign anyone is a such a joke

41m under the cap and not one person to spend it on to improve the D

You guys are the definition of Stockholm Syndrome....... love your captors because the alternative is so unthinkable
