More than 5.5 after 14 games. This is 2 seasons in a row. The number 1 job of a pass rusher is to sack the QB and those that do that at a high level deserve that type of money. DLaw clearly has not been doing that at a high level.

SO by that rational, Bosa should have more than 7.5 (as he's paid $7 mil more than Lawrence). Mack should have more than 8. I guess they're not worth their contracts either?

Trey Hendrickson has 12.5, so I suppose he should be paid more than Khahil Mack? Is that how it works?

That’s the nature of the business...all above average players are overpaid in the NFL for the most part. He was one of the top players at the position when he extended...that’s how it works.

Dak’s about to get overpaid too...it’s NFL FA. Doesn’t mean he’s better than everyone he’s making more than he’s one of the top players at his position and the next man up.

If we want to gripe about contracts I’d reshift the focus to guys like Smith and Elliot...who are playing nowhere near what their contracts warrant. DLaw is not a problem.

Well you should...the NFL is a business and that’s the business side of it.

And him not living up to the contract is your opinion based off of a single stat...I’ve shown you multiple others showing why he is and you’ve denounced them as sacks being all that matters.

Sacks are what should be most important in regards to making over 20 mil as a pass rusher. In fact DLaw would not have gotten that contract if it was not for sacks. It is what it is.....

If Demarcus Lawrence is your best player on D it underscores how horrible the talent on D is.

As others have said, ignore his contract. DLaw would start at LDE as the run side guy on most teams. What he brings as a pass rusher is more than what most LDEs bring. He’s the Greg Ellis and Tony Tolbert on this team, but we expect 15 sacks because he had one huge year in sacks and because he has no Haley/DWare on the other side.

Gregory is not a 3 down player. Big difference.

I disagree. He can do it all out there. Much more dynamic player. He is unbelievably unreliable though. I just think his talent is better than Lawrence’s.

Go look at Mack's, Buckner's, Jone's, MIller, & Trey Flowers sack production the last 2 years.

Spoiler alert, none have broken 10 sacks in the last 2 years & they all make around the same $ as Lawrence.

That is how much a proven DL costs on a second contract and their production (in sacks) will vary year to year. It is what it is.That's why evaluation is not done on sacks alone.

It is the nature of the game & fan expectation will not change reality.
