I think this sends a good message.

He is one of the hardest working guys on the team and finds ways to contribute in a extremely limited role.

It just lets everyone know that if you work hard we'll keep you around and reward you.

I agree, Hurd works his arse off and is a big time special teams player.. If those on here don't realize it then you aren't paying attention to one of the most important parts of the game, I also go to like every single game and before kickoffs he is always in the end zone getting the fans up and dancing around so I am happy to get to see that some more :) lol I know that has no bearing, but he does get everyone pumped

oh yay he pumps up the crowd.

Last time I checked we have hot cheerleaders who do that.

Ya he's totally worth it.

Nice...I'm a fan of this.

I'm one of the bigger and few Hurd supporters on the board though.

I hope someone takes us up on it....doubt it though.

I like Hurd, but I'd rather have the two in this year's draft--especially if it was in the 33-45 range.

I bet our SP coaches went to bat for Sam.

Remember folks, they do have to make the team to get these $....which may not happen for Proctor or maybe even Hurd if the young guys look great.

Are you serious?

In no way does this signify anything. Austin, Williams, Crayton, Ogletree, Hurd, Rookie WR.

Hurd is special teams and everyone knows it. I'd like for him to get more of a receiving opportunity, but there are better players ahead of him.

However, I think Hurd would produce just as much as Williams.

Second-round tendrs for Sam Hurd, Cory Procter

Like Stephen Bowen, Sam Hurd and Cory Procter will receive the second-round tender for the second straight year.

Hurd and Procter will make $1.759 million if they make the team. The Cowboys would receive a second rounder in return if they chose not to match a deal.

Hurd led the Cowboys with 19 special teams tackles in 2009 and had seven catches for 121 yards and a touchdown in limited playing time offensively. Procter was active for every game and saw spot duty during the year.

But don't forget, the Cowboys and another team could come to a mutual trade agreement on something different than a second-round pick.

I dont get it, in either case. It should be fairly easy to upgrade both of them.

Seriously, is Procter Jerry's illegitimate son? I wouldn't give Procter an 8th round tender.
