Sam Hurd gets second-round tender, Proctor too

lol, there's nothing dblair loves more than going from thread to thread expressing outrage over the reactions of others.

It's funny cause even if he agrees he will still say your reaction is unjustified. ;)

:laugh2:

I think it gets him off.

I realize that I should know this, but I don't....
Does a team have a limited amount of tenders that can be offered per round or is it unlimited?

Also, seeing that both Hurd and Proctor would have to make the final roster for this to be in effect, why the uproar? Is it that we could offer a lower tender and someone would bite, then we get an extra pick that bothers you guys? Guess that would make sense.
This page should answer your question. :)

the proctologist must have pictures of Jerruh with a horse or something. There IS NO OTHER explanation.

not really, its just comical the reactions some here have

"overreaction nation" should be the unofficial name for CZ

and if you are gonna make a post basically throwing me under the bus, learn to spell my name

Most of you are just wrong about him. It's either that or the coaches are stupid.

Throwing you under the bus? Get a sense of humor, man. Geez.

It's a web forum. If you expect everyone to react to every situation the same way you do, this might not be the place.

Those are the only two choices huh?

Those that think he's terrible can only imagine the coaches are too stupid to get it. Personally I've defended him as not being terrible and calling him a marginal backup who could never start for us.

But until this team finds a better backup at center, he isn't going anywhere. I'm all for drafting a backup center or G/C.

I don't see what the big deal is. A 2nd round tender doesn't pay all that much. No one is breaking the bank to keep the two.

This is basically paying a very slight premium to ensure you still have depth if the draft doesn't unfold how you expect it to. In an uncapped year, no less, where salaries don't "count" for anything.

Am I missing something?

Not a fan of Proctor but with no OL debth it’s understandable, i guess.

Hurd...kindof worn out on him. Every year he is full of talk but once he’s put under the lights, he flops. See what happens this season.

he hasn't flopped.. there are just players that are more talented, he is very important to our team & if you watch ST's you would understand, don't be silly... Joe D is very much in on this and he knows how consistent he is

I'd disagree.

I appreciate his work, but a 2nd round tender is still high for your #5 receiver.

Overkill to me.

Just like when they tagged Procter with a 2 last year.

My understanding is that there isn't much difference costwise between a second-round tender and the low tender.

The Cowboys said last year that they went with the second-round tenders on their players for that reason. If you are going to offer them a tender, why not make it one that guarantees you some compensation if another team signs them?

that's about right. and i'd add that receiving a tender is no guarantee to making the team. we will churn the roster as we go along this off-season. we're just getting started.

What a blessing it would be to have someone take Proctor.

Wouldn't be bad to have someone take Hurd either but if Oakland would just take Proctor, I'd jump for joy.

Yea he has. Two massive drops against Denver. TD drop against KC. And i remember one more, maybe Saints or Washington. Have to make those catches when you have limited opportunities. Maybe he needs to pray more, i dunno. Like i said, will see what happens.

A pass defended and a pass interference that was not called are now ref. to as massive drops?

I agree, he needs to make plays when given the opportunity... but you can't discount the work he does on ST's, always being one of the first 2 down there.. did a great job of covering kicks

You could park him on the side of the road with a sign that said FREE hanging from his neck and you still wouldn't get rid of him!

(somebody should photoshop that little gem sometime...)

Hurd I can deal with but Proctor? :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

I think Proctor inherited the photos that Lynn Scott had. :laugh2:
