Sam Hurd gets second-round tender, Proctor too

This news couldn't be much worse to me. Proctor is practice squad level at best. He must have pictures of something VERY embarrassing to hang around like this. Sickening. What a waste of a roster spot, not to mention money.

A tender doesn't involve guaranteed money, I don't believe...it's simply a way of insuring that guys don't walk for nothing. If someone signs them, you're okay with it...if no one signs them, you still have their rights. But if you draft someone or sign someone and then cut them later, it didn't cost you hardly anything because it's a tender, not guaranteed bonus money.

That's my take...it's smart to tender guys who are contributors, even if you're trying to upgrade.

This is exactly what it is, but for some reason alot of people dont get it.

Yes, it does. All this tenders are guaranteed for the year, almost no matter what happens to the player. If he gets injured, he gets his money. If he gets cut at any point after he signs the tender, he gets his money. About the only way the player would not get paid is if he retires on his own OR goes to jail.

I don't think Hurd or Proctor will be on the roster in 2010.

I think we should give someone a #2 to take Proctor and use him for a turnstile at their stadium entrance.

:laugh1:
