What love is Williams getting? It seems as if he is unfairly being compared to Micah. That and that only, was the reason I made the outlandish comment. I want Micah to improve on last year (rookie mistakes) and I want Williams to impact the defense as well.

Parsons won defensive rookie of the year, was 1st team all-pro, and was second in the Defensive Player of the Year voting. Had the won DPOY, he would have been the first guy to do it in 41 years and only the second ever, to Lawrence Taylor.

He didn’t make a lot of rookie mistakes.

And you’re 100% correct… no way anyone should expect anything close to Parsons from Williams’ rookie season. Anyone saying that is out of touch with just how rare Parsons is.

But yeah, I expect him to clean a lot of those mistakes up and be better this season. That doesn’t mean he’ll have more sacks… but he’ll be better. Don’t forget he had missed all of 2020 because of Covid as well. This season he’ll be in the flow and have a year’s worth of NFL knowledge. He’s going to kill it, IMO.

He will be a good replacement for Demarcus Lawrence in a year or two.

I don’t think he will be. I think he will stay an RDE, at least on early downs. On passing downs it’s really becoming interchangeable.
