Being boring in press conferences is the least of Garrett's problems. Ever tried to listen to a Belichick press conference? It's 99% mumbling cliches and 1% talking about special teams. Coaches aren't there to yuk it up with reporters.

It’s a press conference, not a variety show or soul bearing intervention. Coaches do them because they have to, not because they want to. There are plenty of reasons to want Garrett gone, but giving stock answers to get through the unwanted press conference routine isn’t one of them.

Personally, I think clapping is the least of his problems, but that seems to be a focal point for many....that and the red hair.
