Personally, I'd rather have Folley but I suppose we will see.

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Five months after he was shot by an off-duty policeman, Chargers linebacker Steve Foley thinks his career may be over.

"I don't want to count anything out or rule myself out, but it's a reality that I won't be able to play again, period," Foley said by phone Friday from Miami, where he was visiting friends during Super Bowl week.

Keith Davis looks down his nose at Steve Foley.

That was a crazy situation, by all accounts, wasn't it? Foley's gonna be getting big money from that police dept. (or county, wherever it comes from.)

dallas starting linebackers are already on the team. edwards is going to make some serious money. like a 3 yr deal. but with alot of money. and he's only 220something lbs. yes he can play the 3-4 and play it very well. but i dont see the cowboys paying more money for an inside guy. well atleast the money that edwards is going to be asking for. they have 35 mil invested in akin and james. thats not chump change.

While that sounds good, I unfortunately don't see Reggie Nelson falling to us. I think he goes in the top 10-15. I'd like to have him, but I don't see it happening.

Moreover, it would seem to me that Edwards would be the most likely LB to follow Wade.

I hope he goes early, as does all of the other FS so we don't draft one. I think it would be a HUGE mistake drafting a FS in the first day.

Actually I think James will be just fine this year; certainly he'll be help with the signing of of Dat as an *** LB Coach/quality control. Will be interesting to see where Phillips plays Carpenter. Initially we all thought Parcells drafted Carpenter as an OLB but then he was moved to ILB due to Ellis playing better then had been expected. It wasn't until some time after Ellis was hurt that Carpenter really got a shot at OLB again and frankly I thought he really came on well in last 4 games--particularly the Seattle game. I also thought I read someplace that Parcells beginning to think Carpenter much more dynamic a player/difference maker as an OLB. And what will Phillips also make out of Burnett, Ratliff & Hatcher. I think there's a lot of unused talent on this team just looking to emerge. I've got high hopes for our defense under Phillips. After all, they already know the 3-4; now they just got to learn Phillips 34. If he could develop a good pass rush from the players we already have plus maybe 1-2 rather inexpensive additions from SD, we might be looking at a legit top 5 defense. I don't buy the argument that SD has better defense players. I'm hoping Phillips defense will be adjusted enough to allow our guys to be in best position to get the job done. Sure hope Phillips is studying our defense play for last 2 years & knows what he needs for FA & the draft.

I think it's much more likely Phillips brings in somebody cheaper, less likely to start, but who knows the system.

That would be Polk, IMO. Let him be a reserve and fire up the backers while instilling Wade's ideas and system to the Dallas players.

Heck with his size, I'd move him inside and let him compete with Ayodele.

Hey Abs, hadn't seen this. Bummer. Foley had a lot of talent. Bummer for him I guess.
