Nuggets out there suggesting this is def an option for Giants......some are linking them to Darnold if he doesn't sign with the Vikes.
If Darnold some how wins two playoff games. He might get a Dak contract offer from Giants, Tennessee, or Raiders. You never know.

I don't see the Vikes letting him go........his entire locker room was waiting for him after Sunday's game to celebrate. I see them now possibly trading JJ McCarthy which could be interesting. There's chance he would grade above any QB in this draft........so the Vikes could possibly get a high 1st for him.

Money talks. They traded up in the draft to get McCarthy. You have the kid on a rookie contract. Basically the Vikings have a dream scenario where they have a quarterback on a rookie contract with elite talent around him already with cap space to spend. Darnold had one good season out of 6. This reminds me of Eagles when they won the Super Bowl. The quarterback became a pumpkin.

Agreed. I don't see Minn letting him out that door. Even if they fold up in the playoffs, he has helped get them to 14-2 as of right now.

Remember they can franchise him to buy another year........which night the smartest route. If he run it back .....then go long-term and trade McCarthy

Other than the fact that he is Deion Sanders son, why the heck would anyone with a first round draft pick waste it on this guy?

The kid is ranked around 20th per this years QR ratings.

If anything, I'd be worried exactly how he would progress into a system where daddy isn't calling the shots.

I just keep reading how highly this guy is regarded, and I just don't see it.

Read an article about him this morning about wearing NY Giants cleats in the bowl game last night because he's warming up to the idea of being a Giant apparently. My question is who cares? Would anyone waste a first round pick for this guy?

Bringing up the fact he's only 20th in QBR is to not understand the metric in full context.

Do you know how many college QBs there are?

Total QBR penalizes for sacks taken (which doesn't take into fact the quality of the offensive line) and QB rush yards/TDs, so it benefits running QBs.

I can't speak to his maturity or how he projects as a pro. One thing I would be concerned about is that a lot of his success seems to come when the pocket breaks down and he's playing sandlot football. I'd be a bit dubious of how he plays in the pocket early on in his career.
When you sort just for passing metrics, Sanders is rated 3rd best QB in the country.

I watch him and I see substance but more flash. Now maybe that can work in the NFL.
But honestly this is one of the weakest QB classes I can remember when a near certain bust like Ward is considered the Top QB.

I think there is something to be said for both points of view. It all comes down to judgement. How good is his?
If I were a betting man (which I'm not) not certain I would bet for his judgement. That's a personal opinion only.

My only point from the get go is how much of "house" do you bet on him (Sanders) to be "that" guy to help your team in need of a QB in the NFL?

I think he is the best QB prospect this year; but its a low bar

Deion has narrowed the list of teams down with his "My son isn't playing a down for a team that isn't the right fit for my son, dont waste your time" statement.

I don't know which teams those are or how much they would bet...but I assume that statement as turned a few teams away. I guess it depends on how high the first team that Deion and Shedeur say he will play for sits.

This is an ex-NFL star with a son projected to go top 2 QBs off the board. I assume this is all been worked out behind the scenes by now. And...deion, shedeur and the team all agree that there is a nice fit that lowers the risk of Shedeur failing.

Do you think he is a second round or later talent that doesn't have proper skill set for NFL?

I think the kid has potential and can play, but it seems hard to differentiate between the hype and fiction per exactly where he fits per his draft class, particularly if he's not playing for his daddy who is the head coach that this QB has had for the last 4 (or 3, not certain) years of his college playing days.

Was Shedeur on the High School Prep that Deion coached? The one that got shut down.

Regardless, deion has had that kid around NFL players his entire life...I would be surprised if Shedeur was hard to coach.

Deion seems to be overly controlling about Shedeur, but it seems to be in good faith. The World hates when others play their cards right, and...imo, it's smart to dictate where your son goes sense QBs are unfairly treated by fans. Fans don't care if it's the QBs fault or not, they start calling for the QBs head if the team isn't winning. Deion is trying to prevent and rightfully so.

I get that there is a Draft order and that's the rules, but teams and fans should think about why Eli or Shedeur would pull such a move to refuse to play for some teams if the fit is really bad. There are people that will defend the draft order rules regardless if a stupid Owner or GM drafts a kid into a bad spot, and because of the bad drafting by the Team....the kids career ended on his rookie deal. No ball club should weild that power over a player, while the player has no input.

I can understand not liking him personality wise, you’re either going to love or hate the entire Sanders family.

But to act like he’s not a high level NFL talent is pretty crazy. Now is he top 10 in most draft classes? Maybe not. But this is a weak QB class and the best of the bunch is always going to get pushed up. Imo there’s a pretty big gap between Sanders and Ward, and then there’s the Grand Canyon between Ward and the 3rd best QB.

Yeah, some have Milroe of Alabama as the third QB taken and if anything is enough to tell you how bad this QB class is that does

THAT comment makes the most sense at least to myself.

We all have opinions, be it right or wrong ;)
