Sara Conner Chronicles: Terminator series on Fox

Technically a Cylon but close enough

Edit, fixed

Did anyone watch the last episode? What are your thoughts? This is turning out to be a great series. They are explaining concepts like how the Terminators received their flesh outer covering. They are also expanding on concepts like how the robots can use human body parts and incorporate them in a way. The writing is pretty good too in regards to determining who is a friend or foe. I think this Sara Connor is better than Linda Hamilton. Linda looked a lot tougher but this one is a much better actress. They guy playing John Conner is also a better actor than Edward Furlong was in T2, he is less whiny and doesn't look as if he is reading off lines.

I watched it. I like it, the show is getting better and better (so far).

It's already on my tivo season pass. :D

One thing about a TV series is that you have time to flesh out charactors; something you can't do in a 2 hr movie. Linda Hamilton played her role to a T in T2; and she is a fine actress. And she was a LOT tougher. This sarah frankly is to me not tough enough. The T2 sarah was very interesting in that she had no compunction about doing whatever it took; nothing was out of the question; nothing was going too far. Which was perfectly understandable giving the setup as it was. The TV series is not as constrained about the timeline and has other possibilities; BUT there is no way that she should have allowed herself to get involved seriously with someone.

The main reason why I'm watching T|SCC is to see how far Summer Glau, the director/writers AND Fox will take her Terminator character. So far, she's number three on my all-time Terminator model rankings--behind the T-101, T-1000 and ahead of the T-X (Kristanna Loken had Glau beat in the curves competition, but Glau's a better actress imo).

I can't compare Glau and Loken because they play two different characters. Glau looks like a teenager and Loken looks like a mature woman although technically, they are only 2 years apart. It's hard for me to see Glau as a woman that is 26 years old since she looks like she is barely 16 to me.

You can still convey a range of emotions in a 2 hr time period. In the pilot episode, Lena Heady's Sara Connor already displayed much more range than Linda Hamilton's Sara Connor. Heady is still tough but feminine and motherly at the same time. I enjoyed watching Hamilton's Sarah Connor in T2 and she was definitely tougher albeit less realistic in my opinion. Lena Heady played Queen Gorgo in 300 and she was much tougher than her Sarah Connor portrayal so the actress is deliberately downplaying the toughness and I think it works

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I wasn't ranking the actresses, but the characters they are portraying.

Anyone watch tonight?

Stringing all the episodes together... so far... I am buying.

Good stuff.

I'm actually enjoying the show, because I'm not concentrating too much on sticking to the actual Terminator story. It's definitely better than a lot of the other garbage on TV.

I really like that they have the regular joe FBI guy that is on to "machines & future" and such.... bits an pieces....

Edit

You made me curious as to why... so I googled it

"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" (Fox, 2008) - Producer and series adapter Josh Friedman said in an interview with IGN.com that the new series occurs in "an alternate timeline" that "takes the place of 'T3.'" The TV series begins on Aug. 24, 1999, with Sarah (Lena Headey) and a 15-year-old John (Thomas Dekker) living nondescript lives off the grid. They believe they stopped Skynet, which had originally gained sentience in 1997, but now discover they'd simply delayed it.

Darn.... here I was... trying to be a good poster citizen in not creating another thread on same topic... so I searched and didnt read threw it.... arghhhh....

LOL

My new favorite show... I was high on Journeyman before this....

Just watched the finale online.

I still like the show because the possibilities are endless... but the finale sucked.

Not too many chatters on this one huh? LOL

Well, it wasn't a true finale, so it's kind of hard to expect too much. Stupid writer's strike.

I really like the show. It got better as the season went on. I hope it gets picked up for another season (I don't know if that decision has been made yet or not).

Oh I didnt know how much if any was affected. Ok.

But... I think the show is getting close to a crossroads as far as where its going to take us. Same old, same old or some REAL good creative direction.

Yeah me too.
I thought it was good from the beginning and then the middle... again not sure about the last episodes or where its going.

The whole concept = possibilities are endless... lets hope they go there....

I like it, but I don't see it as something great.

I too wonder if it will be picked up or canceled.

It just seems like one of those shows that could be canceled quickly with many fans crying out over it.

I agree... it's fine, but not necessarily "must-see TV."

I do like the girl terminator, though. I think her delivery is hilarious.

Casting that guy from 90210 is a bit of a stretch... don't really see him as a badass tough guy. I like the casting of the old boyfriend... the EMT guy. He was my favorite character when I used to watch Oz.

I don't know if y'all watched Oz, but he played this prisoner who was this crafty Irish guy who always had a scam going. He also had a brother who was in jail with him who was mentally-challenged, and he'd look out for his brother. That brother was played by the cop in Dexter who's sister was the girl who got shot and was sleeping with the captain. :p:
