You can pretend that this somehow vindicates Zimmer, but the fact is, he lays an egg way more often than he gets a performance like this.

If he can just turn it on and off, why doesn't he do this more often? I wouldn't totally dismiss the fact that he just calls conservative plans most weekends.

And if he's not comfortable being exotic except for when he has to, then that's just as good a reason to fire him as if he downright COULDN'T do it.

Won't, can't, what's the difference?

We need that performace every week. Let's see it more often, Zimmer.

Lame.

Its not like he poked his bat out at a slider and happened to hit it.

He game planned and beat Payton Manning not in the playoffs. Only a handful of coaches have managed that in recent years. He did it without Ellis. He moved Ware around and disguised blitzes. He flustered Payton.

He didn't just get "lucky".

Wow, we beat the Colts. Get all sorts of pressure on Manning all game. Force a couple fumbles and get two pick and we still get a fire Zimmer thread.

No it wasn't.

We blitzed a LOT more.

Norm and Greggo pointed it out as well.

we did not blitz a ton more. good god sometimes we only sent 4. 5 at the most. and when we did blitz more than 5 we gave up plays.

anyway the results were about the same for our wins. the opposing qb sucks.

none of the blitzes really worked for that matter. it was all interior lineman crowding the QB.

like every game. the difference wasi n our secondary. my god they were amazing. and our interior lineman fought hard.

jason ferguson was A BEAST in the middle today. he broke through 3 or 4 times.

The question I have is this. Why hasn't the defense played this aggressive all year long? We need to get after the opposing QB like we did today. If we can put that much pressure on Manning and his o-line, you would think we could do the same thing against Washington, Philly, etc. I just want us to continue using this more aggressive scheme the rest of the year.

Well, F.Y.I to the Zimmer haters out there.

>Zimmer does different plans every week, which helps the Cowboys be in the top of 5 of defense in the NFL, even not knowing the 3-4 all that well he still presenting the Cowboys a one of the best defenses in the NFL.

>I also trust in Zimmer judgements, why?, because you have to play each team different, we can't play every team like we play the Colts, you have to change your game plan up for different teams. Cause every team doesn't play the same. Everything factors into this which is most of the time is the players and their abilities, coaching, and game tapes. I believe all of those really factors into how you carry out your gameplan for that particular game.

>Another thing, yall have to understand it's the players that suppose to execute the plays out, which sometimes falls to blame on a coach that can't get out there and play for the players that can't execute the play.

From my honest opinion and from what I've seen over the years with Zimmer as the Dallas Cowboys defense cordinator, I believe he's turning into something special, I also believe Bill Parcells is sharpening him up like a pencil to be the Dallas Cowboys next head coach and I wouldn't mind that because he's young, and he's learned two defenses(3-4/4-3) and I believe we can really expand the defensive playbook with him as our head coach.

It was a good personel match-up for Dallas.

Newman and Henry are the best tandum in the entire NFL. (not to mention Biscuit ' he's scary') for WRs.

Futhermore Ware is the best athlete/rushing DE Indy will face all year.

I'm surprised we didn't run the ball alot better and put this game away alot sooner.

If you count Vaderjaqts 2 misses, we run away with the game and win by two TDs.

I won't "hate" Zimmer if he can do this more often.

If we go back to not getting pressure and turnovers and letting up 20+ points to good teams, then I want someone who will produce more plays.

Because producing that stuff usually means wins.
